I definitely noticed a nutty/roasted flavor and aroma in this tea. That isn't my favorite flavor to find in tea, but it tastes of good quality and would likely be very enjoyable to someone who *does* have that preference.
I brewed it at 195 °F and steeped it for 3 minutes. This gave it plenty of flavor without turning the drink bitter. I didn't notice any sweetness the way that other reviewers have. The color of the brew was rather auburn. I left the water warming in my tea kettle, which concentrated the flavor for the second drink and made it a far deeper shade.
Certainly good quality tea--just not quite in line with my palate.
I received this as a free sample (thanks Alex!), so I went to the website to get a sense of their pricing. The website gives measurements in grams. Converted to ounces, this appears to be over $10 per ounce--which I'd count as high. Hence, the "value" score of 2.

I especially enjoyed the roasty flavor of this tea. There definitely was a slight sweetness, which from my own preferences, I wasn't a huge fan of. I always find it impressive when I get a few cups of tea with similar strength off the same leaves, and this tea delivered. I've only had two oolongs from Eco-Cha so far, and out of the two I enjoyed the High Mountain Oolong substantially more. I thought both teas were of high quality, it's more about my tastes... I'm a vegetable-y tea kind of girl.

The aroma is richly roasted pine nuts and toasted chestnuts there are also notes of sweetness, baking bread and molasses. The steeped leaves with toasted nuts and tobacco with a hint of burnt chocolate.
The taste is honey sweet with notes of osmanthus, roasted nuts, molasses and cocoa. The next steeping brings out stronger roasted notes and smokey tones with a slight bitterness. This tea is really complete and very enjoyable!

This tea just smells so freaking good. It is potent and tends to brew up strong, very roasty, so I recommend going easy on the leaf and/or the steeping time.
The cup is rich and dark cup, and the aroma is very complex, especially if sipping it gradually. Smells like roasted vegetables with a hint of the spent gunpowder smell from fireworks. Flavor is rather sour. I've tended to find most of the Eco-Cha teas to be more sour than my tastes, and this one is the most sour...in this one, the sourness plus the roast is slightly reminiscent of coffee. But with this tea, the pleasant qualities make it worth tolerating the sourness.
In the finish, there's a faint minty note, imparting a bit of a cooling quality in the midst of an otherwise warm, hearty tea.
I found this tea most pleasant if slowly sipping. It's smooth tasting, but something about it doesn't sit well in my stomach if I drink it too fast. I had no trouble with it though when drinking slowly, and felt good when drinking it this way.
The second infusion was very similar to the first, and the leaves were still full of flavor.
Easily brews a third cup, and the third cup is. I suspect you probably could brew a fourth cup, because the leaf still smelled pleasant, but I did not try.
