This chamomile was actually a little bit unusual or atypical. It was full-bodied and rich, but a little bland, and had an unusually smooth flavor. There was less fruitiness, less of the hay or straw-like aroma, less of the lacy floral quality, and less of the muted bitter aftertaste that characterizes chamomile tea in my mind.
It was still recognizable as chamomile, and although not terribly complex in aroma, it was still pleasing.
