Twinings has disappointed me time and again with their true teas and tea blends, so admittedly I tried their pure chamomile bag expecting it to both smell and taste old and weak. Much to my surprise, it was neither on either sense.
The dry bag was remarkably well-stuffed with chopped blossoms, offering an aroma of freshness uncommon to this brand in my experience. Steeped for 8–10 minutes (longer than the recommended four), it yields a rich, translucent, golden-brown brew with small but visible droplets of essential oil afloat. That's always a good sign. The in-cup and wet-bag aromas were among the richest few I've noted in a chamomile tea, as was the flavor. Chamomile—properly grown, prepared and packaged—should have a very specific taste and scent; this does.
Congratulations, Twinings. I've finally found a drink of yours that I can recommend without reservation or substantial caveat! That said, at least a a few less-expensive chamomiles exist in the U.S. that are similarly smooth and full-bodied, and that consumers could deem a better value than this import.

Hands down, this is the best Chamomile tea you can purchase. I steep mine for 5 minutes. The taste is authentically Chamomile, with no chemical taste what so ever. The tea is so powerful that it actually quells my anxiety and makes me a tiny bit sleepy. (Chamomile does that regardless). I believe this to be because of the generous quantity in the the bag. It is mostly the flower (the part of the plant you should care about), so you really get a good deal for your dollar with this one. Don't hesitate if you ever see it available and you want a good Chamomile.

This is not my favorite chamomile, but it does the job quite adequately. I don't detect a bad aftertaste in this tea, and the flavor itself is mild and soothing.

steeped it way too long by accident, don't know if that helped or hurt...a good tea...perhaps the best of the camomile's I've had...not usually my type. Straightforward no frills though. Strength of flavor is just right

A typical and decent chamomile tea. Nothing really stands out...there's a little bit of the muted unpleasant aftertaste, and a hint of fruitiness in the aroma, a little bit of a straw-like flavor. Soothing. Not the best chamomile I've tried but certainly not the worst. Reasonably priced.
