Jade Citrus Mint from Teavana
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 28th, 2015
This is a blended tea, but the menthol-esque mint flavor is by far the dominant taste; I didn't even realize that this was a green tea blend until I looked up the product page.
Nonetheless, as far as minty teas go, I like the flavor of this one quite a lot. I'd even buy it in place of a lot of pure mint teas--if it ...
Licorice Spice Herbal Tea from Stash Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 5th, 2015
Sweet with little spice, the description is apt in calling this a 'dessert-like tea.' But I find little to recommend this tea over Yogi's Egyptian Licorice; the licorice flavor is more full in the latter, while the purported spice in this blend seems scarce to exist. I wouldn't recommend it.

Sweet but not overly so, this tea has a compelling but mild flavor to which I'm willing to return but less willing to purchase. If you like sweet herbal blends but don't care for the candy-like taste that tends to come with lower-end fruit blends, this might be an excellent choice.

One of my newest favorites--this one smells and tastes great, and is unique in both scent and flavor. Don't think of it as a chamomile blend, though--I wouldn't have known it was one without the description. The taste is smoky and flowery, with a hint of menthol from the mints.

Mint and chamomile blend surprisingly well together, creating a flavor that's distinct in and of itself rather than a blend in which one flavor dominates or both alternately assert themselves. I think this is one of Bigelow's better offerings, but I wouldn't really bother to buy it for myself.

Hella sweet. Hella, hella, hella sweet. An excellent tea to give someone who would really prefer to be drinking juice, but not my favorite.

Licorice is the dominant flavor in this tea, but it's not particularly strong. I like the flavors of both lemon and echinacea, but I can't taste the lemon at all and I can hardly detect any echinacea. If you thought the regular Throat Coat was too strong a tea, perhaps you'll enjoy this one; if you prefer your tea stro...

I am so confused.
I don't quite understand how Earl Grey is supposed to work with green tea, but if you put your prejudices and confusion aside, this actual tastes pretty decent. The bergamot is by far the dominating flavor of the blend. I'm not sure why I would pick this over one of the regular blends, though.

I like this tea quite a lot. I found it quite sweet, particularly for a non-herbal blend, with a hint of something fruit-like. I don't detect vanilla over-much in the flavor, though it comes through quite a bit in the scent. I find this to be a good all-around tea for just about any occasion.

Sweet to the taste and easy on the throat. I appreciate the strength of the vanilla. I tried it this evening and I'd definitely be willing to acquire a box of my own.
Goes on my personal list of teas that can be served to people who don't like tea. (Primary criterion for inclusion on this list is sweetness, building...
Earl Grey from Bigelow Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 10th, 2014
This might be my favorite among the Bigelow teas I've tried for its combination of caffeine and taste. But having tried Ahmad Tea's Earl Grey loose leaf first, I have trouble calling this one a particularly good version of the blend. It delivers a kick with a smooth, interesting taste, but it's not going to be my go-to...

One of my favorite blends--particularly with respect to the price. The flavor is smooth, the citrus noticeable but neither fake nor overwrought; and no matter how long I let this steep, I don't detect any bitterness. I bought 100 grams to start out with, but I expect this to be a staple of my tea cabinet from now on.

This might be my favorite of all the lower-priced black teas I've tried thus far. Not bitter, doesn't seem to develop that soapy taste found in a number of other black teas, and delivers a good kick.

I was not expecting this tea to be good, but it's excellent. The flavor is balanced excellently between the lemon and something fruity; it's full and citrusy and refreshing. It's free on my campus, but I might actually buy it.

I feel a little bad rating this so low because it's not that bad a tea--but there are so many better options out there that I feel like I can't find any justification for rating it higher. This tea has little scent and barely any flavor, and it doesn't even have enough of a kick to justify drinking it purely for the ca...

Is it fair, strictly speaking, to compare a bagged ginger tea to the tea you produce using fresh ginger?
(Probably.)
This is a good ginger tea that carries itself well among its bagged compatriots. I think it could do with a little more spice, but overall it's very good. It does what it's supposed to do. I like t...

Style: Pure Chamomile Tea – Region: ?????47 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5

Drinkable, but by a wide margin not my favorite of the lower-end chamomile blends. Not an especially full or rich flavor, with no notes present besides the chamomile, and even the baseline taste is rather weak. I'll drink it when it's free or when I don't have other options, but I'd pick the Twinings chamomile or, bett...

The flavor of this chai is excellent, if somewhat less spicy than is my preference; however, be warned that you'll need to limit the size of the cup if you want to be able to taste much of anything. No tall cups or full thermoses for you! For those of you who like to make chai lattes, I would avoid adding milk and suga...

St. John's Wort is the only ingredient in this tea, and I like its taste, but if this is something you enjoy I think you'd be better off buying Yogi Blues Away. There's very little leaf in the teabags, which themselves are fragile and prone to tearing. I tried this brand because I hoped it might be better value than th...

Unlike a lot of teas that purport to contain apple, this one actually tastes like it might. The cinnamon isn't overpowering or even especially assertive, which means that the tea is quite sweet and not particularly spicy. Probably a good tea to serve people who don't like tea.

I thought this one was all right. It's got that almost-sweet flavor about it, but not as much so as some other varieties. This seemed to contain more menthol than some of the other varieties of peppermint I've tasted, as well.

Not a bad sencha. Not a great one either. This is the sort of tea you drink on a daily basis without any sort of sentimental attachment, until the brand implements changes years on and you find yourself nostalgic for the old packaging of your youth.

Flavor-wise, this tea tastes like exactly what it is--a chamomile blend with added mint. I couldn't detect much of a scent to it beyond the standard mint.
I'm not really sure where to put this tea, categorization-wise. The added mint doesn't seem to do anything for the relaxing propensity of chamomile, but the mint ...

Okay, maybe I just have strange taste in tea.
I think this tastes awesome, and--as per my standard--I'm happy to drink it 'just because'. I tend to drink it a lot when I'm nervous about getting sick--I've developed an almost Pavlovian sort of response at this point--but I don't tend to drink anything bad-tasting for...
