Sencha du Vietnam Bio - Organic

Commercial Description
This tea was dried by a steaming process. This traditional Chinese process (almost abandoned in China but very much in use in Japan) has also been adopted in Vietnam. This "sencha" offers a clear yellow-green, very refreshing, liquor.

I drank this tea in the Unami Maison de Thé in Lille. It was served prepared in a small teapot. This means it was made exactly as it should, though I didn't get to see any leaves.
I don't have any prior experience with senchas, so I can't compare this with others. I have tasted a few other Vietnamese green teas, and this is a lot like them (e.g. Yen Bai Groen from Simon Lévelt): fruity with sweet notes and a strong background that I'm not sure how to describe. Maybe grassy. It's not as sweet as Simon Lévelt's Yen Bai Groen, though, and the bold background is stronger. It's got a similar almost brownish yellow colour to other Vietnamese green teas.
It's a very good tea, but comparable to far cheaper ones. I have an unbranded tea sold simply as "Vietnam FOP" which is about a half or a third of the price of this one, which is the main thing dragging the rating down.
