My first Nilgiri green tea.
This was an interesting tea, but it was weaker in aroma than I would have liked. Tangy flavor, with tones of lemon or lime in the aroma. A hint of grassy tones, and cooked vegetable aromas as well, like asparagus. Almost a hint of vanilla in the aroma. Very much unlike Chinese or Japanese green teas, but only slightly similar to green teas I have had from Darjeeling or Nepal.
I've tried brewing this tea a number of different ways and I prefer a single long infusion, with water about 180-190. Cooler water and it is too bland. Shorter infusions with more leaf brought out unpleasant characteristics of the aroma.
Although it was very unique, and very fresh tasting, I can't say I was a huge fan. It tasted a bit too "gray" for me, if that makes any sense.
