The Tea Spot is a tea company, based in Boulder, Colorado, and founded in 2004 by Maria Uspenski. In addition to selling loose tea, The Tea Spot also sells its own trademarked brand of tea infusers, called Steepware®.
Maria Uspenski is a cancer survivor who was initially drawn to tea during recovery, by promises of its health benefits. The Tea Spot pledges 10% of all sales as in-kind donations of tea and Steepware to charities, including cancer-focused charities and other community organizations.

This tea has a lovely blend of floral (jasmine) and sweet/nutty (roasted chestnut) aromas. It does stand up to multiple steepings, but the first one was definitely the nicest.
Read Full ReviewThe aroma is very rich, rich and chocolaty with notes of malt and earthiness. It reminds me of tea mixed with milk chocolate. Once brewed there is more of a 'tea' aroma than chocolate. The liquid is richy earthy and ties the pu erh in nicely with the black tea and chocolate.

A lovely tea. Almost delicate, almost sweet, almost berry-like. Not much like the Ceylon teas it supposedly resembles. I think it could stand up easily to it's big brother, Darjeeling.It is bright, but smooth, with no tannic overtones. It is also Organic!
Read Full ReviewOn its own, this is a kind of ho-hum tea, tastingkind of woody and over-roasted, without any grapiness to speak of. However, I added some cream to it and that rounded out all the rough edges and made it sweeter and good enough to have 3 cups in a row.

Many people are afraid of pu-erh and this gussied up version might be a good beginning. I would call this a treat for breakfast, as I would prefer a plainer tea, but...
