This tea sorely disappointed me and left me feeling sad and empty. I thought from the description that I was going to like it, but the description was somewhere between severely misleading and blatantly wrong. Thank you to Organic Herbie for the free sample. But PLEASE, update the description for this tea because it is...

A lovely tea, mellow, and complex, among my favorite Lapsang Souchongs ever sampled. Thank you again to TeaVivre for the sample! This is a traditional Chinese lapsang souchong, it lacks the strong smoky aroma that the more widely-known style of tea popular in the West has. Compared to other traditional Lapsang Souch...

Excellent.
This is the traditional Chinese Lapsang Souchong, subtle, not the British-style stuff with the overwhelming smell of campfire smoke. I love it. I've only ever tried one other Lapsang Souchong on par with this, the Lapsang Souchong Superior Grade from Life In Teacup. This tea was equally exquisite, yet ...
Lapsang Souchong Smoky Black Tea (Yan Xun Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong) from TeaVivre

The dry leaf smells strongly of pine smoke, more like the British style of Lapsang Souchong, which I find is often overly smoky. But upon brewing, this tea's smokiness mellows out considerably. There's still a lot of that campfire or wood smoke smell, but it doesn't overwhelm.
Flavor and mouthfeel is exceptionally...

Life in Teacup sent me a sample of this tea even though it had been discontinued from their catalogue; now, their only Lapsang Souchong is the Lapsang Souchong Superior Grade.
I can see why they discontinued this one: while it was not bad, I thought it was nowhere near as good as the superior grade. Even with the h...

This was the first traditional Lapsang Souchong that I've tried, and I must say, I'm a tremendous fan. It is among my favorite Chinese black teas that I have sampled. Yet another impressive tea from Life in Teacup.
Although there is a hint of pine evident in the aroma, the overwhelming smokiness characteristic of ...

My rating is low because I tend not to like this style of tea. I actually think this tea was very good, more enjoyable than some loose-leaf Lapsang souchong that I've tried.
This is a classic Lapsang Souchong from a tea bag. It has a strong smoky aroma, and smooth, mellow flavor. Unlike some of the other reviewer...

It's hard for me to evaluate this tea because I am not much of a fan of Lapsang Souchong...but this is among the smoothest of the ones I've tried so far. Perhaps I'd develop a taste for it if I drank it more often.
Very strong smoky aroma, more like a sausage or fireplace than a tea. Flavor is extremely smooth and...
