About Kumamoto, Japan
Kumamoto (熊本県) is a prefecture in Japan. It is located on Kyushu, the southernmost of the four large islands of Japan. This region is volcanically active and mountainous, although it also extends to the coast. The climate has clear seasons but is relatively moderate and has very high rainfall which is seasonally distributed, with rain year round but much more rain falling in the summer.Kumamoto is a major producer of tea, and is bordered by Kagoshima prefecture to the south, another important tea producing region.
