Commercial Description
...this classic, dark-roasted oolong is harvested. We create a vintage blend each year from multiple lots of specially roasted Wu Yi varietals to create our signature Wuyi oolong flavor. After blending and curing, we re-roast to make it even and stable...Wuyi has a smooth, rich body with a classic roasted aroma and sweet finish, accented by sweet notes of raisin sugar, honeysuckle and roasted barley.

I am really fond of this tea. I purchased a small bag of this from Rishi a few months back, and have grown to really appreciate the full body with it's roasty/nutty/grainy flavors and aroma. It has sweet notes as they describe it, especially when you steep it a second or third time.
I tend to brew this Chinese style in a guiwan, using more leaf and less time than Rishi recommends--but I have also brewed this western style in my IngenuiTea from Adagio. It consistently steeps to a nice dark amber color and is really a nice darker oolong.

Darker among oolongs, but very mellow. The aroma is very warm, rich, and complex, with some roast, a hint of smokiness, and some tones of grain. It actually smells a bit like marijuana, and a bit like a fresh autumn day. I rather like the aroma and I can say I am constantly discovering new facets of it.
This tea is remarkably sweet! There is hardly any bitterness, especially given the strength of the aroma. No astringency or sourness either. This is a rich tea, but it is never biting or overwhelming. I almost think the flavor is too mellow.
This is truly an outstanding tea and is a joy to drink. It's not cheap but not expensive either--the price is very reasonable when you consider that the leaves are very good for multiple infusions.
