The aroma of this tea is weak, even when I use more leaf than recommended, or a longer steeping time. I've experimented a bit with brewing and it always comes out weak for me. The tea has a strong savory flavor but is rather thin too.
Aroma is odd. Fairly strongly peppery, but with little complexity. Although the dry leaf has some sweet grassy tones suggestive of Bi Luo Chun, there's none of this in the aroma of the brewed cup. Brewed cup is fainty fruity..
Does not even remotely resemble the other green tea by the name "hairpoint" that I've tried from Upton, ZG36.
A disappointment. Upton says "value-priced" but there are many teas in their catalog that I find offer much better value, both at lower and higher price points. There is little objectionable about this tea, but I just found it was less aromatic than I like.
