Commercial Description
A fannings grade, produced from a superior China White tea. The cup has a dark-ecru color, with a sweet flavor and nut-like accents. A one minute infusion at 180° is recommended.

I find Upton's description of this tea to be very accurate, and I like their brewing instructions.
On the dark end for a white tea, but lighter than some shou mei's. Surprisingly aromatic for fannings! The aroma is bold and earthy, slightly crisp and fresh, and, as Upton describes, there are some nutty tones in there. Just a hint bitterness and a hint of sweetness. There's a fair amount of astringency, however, which is the least desirable aspect of this tea. This is minimized by limiting your brewing to 1 minute. As would be expected for such fine particles, this tea is only good for one brief infusion.
This is no high-end tea, but it's absolutely dirt cheap, and it's really not bad. I'm curious what tea these fannings come from--it's not immediately apparent from the quality of the cup. This tea is the best white tea I've tried for this price.
