Of Upton three Shou Mei's of similar price, this is my favorite. Leaves greener as Shou Mei goes. Aroma is fresh, clean and vegetal, perhaps even a bit grassy. Very rich aroma; this is the most aromatic of any Shou Mei that I've sampled. Less sweet than most white teas. My only complaint is a fair amount of astringency, especially in the aftertaste.
Very different from the sweeter and darker ZW62. Very similar to ZW20, but much more aromatic and less sour...although perhaps more astringent. Closest perhaps to ZW60, which is similar but lacks astringency--at the cost of being over twice as expensive and not organic.
One final note, because the aroma is so powerful, you can get away with using less leaves than Upton recommends. People who prefer delicate white teas might enjoy that. Interesting, in addition to preferring the aroma of this tea, it is both organic and cheaper than Upton's other Shou Mei's.
