Houjicha Green Tea from Arbor Teas

I've never had Houjicha before, so I don't have a baseline to compare to. But, I really enjoyed this tea. A mild, smokey sweet flavor unlike any other style of green tea.

A good choice if you are looking for an English Breakfast tea and it's organic & fair trade to boot. It has a bold and distinct flavor -- for an English Breakfast -- but is not overpowering. Goes quite well with a lump of sugar and a spot of milk. Cheers.

Cinnamon. Does anything smell so good as a freshly made cinnamon roll? No, of course not. Surely the combination of cinnamon with black tea would go equally well, right? The dry leaves have a distinct aroma similar to vanilla extract, as would be expected but also an underlying chocolate aroma that sneaks in later. The teas leaves are small and have a very dark brown color.

My favorite masala tea so far. The aromas are very pleasant; cinnamon, ginger and cloves predominate. The brew is mild with just a little astringency. Addition of some honey and milk make for a very smooth cuppa to start the morning off.
