Berry Rooibos from Epi Tea

I wasn't that impressed with this tea, and for its price, I probably won't be buying it. I didn't like the syrupy texture and didn't care for the berry flavoring.

I think this tea is too heavily spiced, and doesn't have a strong enough tea flavor in comparison. Also, there's something off about the blend of spices, but I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the red pepper. I added cream and sugar.

A pleasant, creamy and smooth berry-flavored herbal blend.
I thought this was a very balanced blend, but it was on the weak side. I think Epi Tea could get away with using about twice as much leaf.
Thankfully, this wasn't too sour. A lot of berry blends that go heavy on the hibiscus taste too sour to me. This ...
Lavender Earl Grey from Epi Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend33 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5

I don't think I like lavender tea very much in general. I've never tried normal lavender tea. I don't like this tea very much, but it's okay. It tastes kind of like herbal tea. I added cream and sugar.

Tea bag has little aroma, but upon brewing the aroma really emerges...rich, malty, and complex.
Brews a very dark cup, very full-bodied and thick. Although this is among the most full-bodied teas I've sampled in quite a long time, and the aroma is powerful, the flavor is surprisingly weak, especially for this style...
Lavender Earl Grey from Epi Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5

Brews a very dark cup, quite strong but without being overwhelming.
Aroma is very complex: the inclusion of lavender with a robust, malty base tea produces an illusion of spice, suggestive of mace, allspice, or cinnamon, and a rich, bready quality. There's a lacey sort of floral and fruity quality, almost suggesti...
Blood Orange Rooibos from Epi Tea
Style: Fruit Rooibos – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Aug. 2nd, 2012
Blood Oranges are one of my two favorite fruits, and I was looking forward to this rooibos. Unfortunately, I don't really notice the distinction between this and a regular orange-flavored rooibos; the blood orange may be more a reference to the deep, blood-like color of the rooibos than to the flavoring.
Brewed as ...

Thanks very much to Epi Tea for the pre-release sample of this.
I will start off by saying that I am a chai lover, and I have had many. Traditional and non-tradional ones. I knew looking at the ingredients that this was going to be a non-tradional one since it has vanilla flavoring in it. Which I love, because I lik...
Serene Chai from Epi Tea

I had the opportunity to sample this tea before Epi Tea launched. Thank you, Kyle Ryan, for the samples!
This is a chai blend containing large pieces of broken-leaf orthodox tea, whole spices, and flavorings. Thankfully, the flavorings are subtle and are not overwhelming.
The instructions recommend me to brew t...
