When you are sick - especially if you have a Sore throat - you MUST try Throat Coat from Traditional Medicinals - available in most health food stores. It is loaded with Slippery Elm bark and literally helps coat and soother a sore throat. While, I don't drink this "recreationally" I love it when I am sick.

I am usually not a huge fan of herbal teas, their medicinal quality and usefulness aside I never drink them for pleasure...because usually they taste kinda gross. This tea was a pleasant surprise!
The taste is very mild and slightly sweet, not at all bitter or medicinal tasting. It had a very floral flavor and the ...
Organic Chamomile with Lavender from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

Aroma is lavender, lavender, lavender. A touch of chamomile and something faintly citric. The label says there is "lemon balm leaf" in here. This is where this infusion really shines.
Flavor: Thin, earthy, lavender. Hardly any chamomile is perceptible; but in all fairness, the directions say to use two bags for a...
Organic Chamomile from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Pure Chamomile Tea – Region: ?????67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I've tried a lot of chamomile teas and there are usually only subtle differences between them. This one was above average for a chamomile tea from a tea bag, but only slightly so.
This chamomile I found to have a cleaner, clearer, lighter character, with less of the heavy, lingering bitter aftertaste. Slightly mor...
Organic Raspberry Leaf from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 14th, 2011
I was drinking this as a beverage, not a medicinal tea, so I made a single 3-minute infusion instead of the recommended 10-15 minute one. I imagine it might get a bit too strong if brewed that much: 3 minutes was plenty strong and even perhaps a bit too much.
The cup is greenish brown, like some mild black teas. A...
Organic Echinacea Plus® from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5

it isn't exactly a flavor experience- but it's the best tasting medicine i've ever had! the word "echinacea," the weird green color of the tea (like spinach-water), the fact that it is, after all, medicinal, all contributed to my initial fears that this tea would be disgusting. it isn't. and it works! i rely heavily on...

preface: i'm a huge fan of the real 'organic throat coat' tea. i love the flavor and aroma.
i had the misfortune of trying the 'just for kids' version. basically, while it has some of the same ingredients, the blend is far from identical. i guess it's an alright licorice-tasting tea, but the magic of the original...

i'll start by saying that i drink this 'tea' simply because i love the flavor. i'm not reviewing this to vouch for its efficacy in the treatment of any condition.
i'll continue by saying that everyone, with the exception of one or two people, that i've given a cup of this to did not care for it flavor-wise.
ingr...
Organic Hojicha from Traditional Medicinals

On the heavily roasted and dark side, more coffee-like in aroma and fewer of the green tea qualities come through. Good, but not terribly complex.
There also isn't the most generous quantity of leaf in the teabag. The company recommends 8 oz. of water per teabag, and a long infusion. I brewed it this way and it w...
Throat Coat® from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5

This tea is a horrible combination of astringent and cloying, with a taste remarkably reminiscent of those dreadful Fisherman's Friend lozenges. On the other hand, it works. Short term, but when you have a sore throat you'll take short term.

This is a sort of horrible tasting tea- pungent, minty and bitter is right. But it definitely makes me feel better after I drink it.
