I really enjoy this tea. It's one of my favorites from teakruthi so far. The flavor is pleasant in a soothing yet slightly buttery way. Eating food seems to bring out additional flavors not in either the food or tea alone, so this one is great on its own or with meals. I didn't add any sugar or milk to it. The curled l...Read Full Review
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Matara, Sri Lanka77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

This tea has a pleasant slightly malty flavor. It's a solid black tea best for when an energy jolt is needed, yet it's also possible to relax and enjoy it (along with, perhaps, some other relaxing activity -- such as reading). As always with this brand, the quality of the tea leaf appears high.Read Full Review
Style: Black and White Blend – Region: Matara, Sri Lanka80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I really like this tea. I found that it varies noticeably depending on how much of each tea (white or black) is used to make a cup. I actually like it when one of the two dominates but the minority tea adds complexity to the majority one. Both are high quality, so whether you prefer white or black tea this one is worth...Read Full Review

I was genuinely surprised at how well this blend worked. I was also surprised at how much the overall character was like a white tea, in spite of there being more black tea and the leaf itself looking very dark.Read Full Review
Black and white tea blends are such a strange idea, and so hard to execute, and Teakruthi's teas have be...
Style: White Tea – Region: Matara, Sri Lanka90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

This is one of the best pure white teas I've tried. It's flavor is pleasant and smooth and it resteeps very well. However, to get the best flavor, make just enough for one cup at a time. I have a kettle that can keep tea warm up to an hour. As with so many white teas, it's best not to use this feature in this case. Reh...Read Full Review
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: Matara, Sri Lanka90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

This is a lovely tea with a pleasing balance between the tea and the cinnamon flavors. I tend to prefer my spiced tea to have more than one spice for flavoring, but this is quite well done. Though it could be used to make a latte with sweetener and milk, I like it best straight. It'd be great at breakfast or anytime so...Read Full Review
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Matara, Sri Lanka90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

This tea is strong but smooth -- a nice choice for a breakfast cup. The caffeine gives a boost without a buzz. I tried this tea plain first. The flavor is robust and pleasant, with an accent similar to malt. The leaves have been cut very small and fairly round, enabling a quick infusion.Read Full Review

I enjoyed this smooth, versatile tea. Malt is in both the aroma and the flavor and works well with the black tea flavor. There is no bitterness and it's pleasant for multiple cups. I tried it on its own, with honey, and with a warmed mixture of honey and milk. It works well to warm them in the microwave for 45 seconds ...Read Full Review

I've reviewed over a hundred oolongs, and tried several oolongs from "unusual" places, i.e. countries that are not known for making oolong, including India, Kenya, Japan, and Nepal, but this is the first one I've tried from Sri Lanka.Read Full Review

An exceptional CTC tea, the best I've ever had, and as complex as many hand-processed, whole-leaf teas. This one really surprised me.Read Full Review
The dry leaf is unusually aromatic for a CTC tea. The aroma is toasty and with a strong maltiness, more like rye than other grain.
The brewed cup smells intensely aromatic, and j...

The dry leaf of this consists of big, dark, coarse looking leaves that are slightly curled. There is a mild toasty and chocolatey aroma. The leaf takes up a lot of space, and you need to use quite a lot by volume to get a strong enough cup.Read Full Review

The first tea I tried from Teakruthi was excellent and enjoyable, but didn't wow me. This one immediately stood out, from before the first sip, or even just smelling the brewed cup.Read Full Review
The dry leaf has a smell that strongly suggests a savory stew. It's malty with a hint of smoke and spice.
