Assam Harmony
|
Commercial Description
Bold, powerful black tea from the Assam region of India. A deep, burgundy-red cup and roasted grain aroma, malty rich flavor with notes of raisins. Pungent but smooth astringency, making this tea an ideal cup to pair with milk and sugar. This outstanding Assam comes from a favorite garden of ours, Mangalam Estate.
Brewing Instructions: (from Adagio Teas)
Steep at 212° for 3-5 minutes.

It reminds me of Adagio's english breakfast, but a little more bitter and with more flavor in general. At first I thought it was overwhelmingly bitter, but I got used to it. It's hearty, with some sweetness. Very astringent. Earthy. Fruity, maybe including a bit of lemon.

This is one of the most wonderful teas I have ever tasted. It's complex, sweet, and has a hint of apricot to it. I get it with every purchase from Adagio.
