Commercial Description
(RateTea Translation) Tian Mu, from Hangzhou, has a beautiful light-green, needle-shaped leaf, with many buds. Called 'Heavenly Eye", the tea has a mild taste and a distinctive, muscatel-like, fresh and spicy character.

It's a lovely summer day, so I cycled the 26 kilometres to De Theefabriek again. This time I didn't even visit the tea museum (which I've already seen twice), just bought teas and drank a cup of Tian Mu in the tearoom.
I feel like they always give water at 100°C and many more leaves than I'd use myself, so I only let it steep for a very short time. This is likely to have affected my judgement.
It has a nice vegetal aroma and it reminds me a bit of AhaTee's Bi Luo Chun. After the water had cooled a bit I put the strainer back in for a short time. After that it tasted sweetish, too, and was a bit reminiscent of Vietnamese green teas (such as Simon Lévelt's Yen Bai Groen). It has a fresh aftertaste.
I didn't get to see the dry leaves, but the leaves in the strainer were clearly needle-shaped and lay lengthwise, so neatly that they almost looked like they'd been arranged that way.
It seems like an interesting tea that I wouldn't mind getting to know better, but at €6.20 for 35 g it's a little on the pricey side compared to other good teas offered by De Theefabriek. I'll remember it for future reference, though.
