The dry leaf has an intense fragrance that is more food-like than tea-like, and suggests a savory dish, but also suggests sweetness.
Upon brewing this tea, however, it is less savory than the aroma suggests: mild, sweet, mellow. Surprisingly dark color, a brownish amber, but very clear. Slightly vegetal. Subdued, overall.
A slight dry metallic taste, not unpleasant, in the aftertaste. I would gladly drink this tea again, but it did not wow me. People who like naturally sweeter green teas might really like this one though.
