Upton suggests that this tea has "raisin like nuances" and I'd go even father and be more direct: it smells and tastes a like raisins, and leaves an aftertaste of raisins! Smooth but without being weak. A fair amount of the rice-like quality that I find in many Ceylon teas, and almost a hint of wintergreen. Medium-bodied.
A good tea. Nothing amazing. Expensive among Upton's Ceylons, but not too bad given that it's organic and (in my opinion) one of the better among Upton's Ceylon teas. I still prefer Upton's other offerings and think their Ceylons tend to be a bit disappointing. The only Ceylon black I have preferred to this one so far would be TC40.
