this is the first hong yue / ruby black i've tried.

when i sip it, i primarily get a smooth, somewhat malty taste. the aroma is sweet, but there's also something else.. something cooling. i guess it's like aromatic, volatile terpene/camphor/evergreen/eucalyptus type of a smell&feeling.

nice, predominantly grassy aroma. somewhat vegetal. i find it to be lacking in 'deep umami flavor.'

this is definitely my favorite chai blend.
i've tried several others (searching for a cheaper alternative), including a couple from an indian vendor, and they all fell short of rishi's.
