Whispering Pines is going to be the death of me, but at least I'll die a very happy, tea-drunk death.
Method: 1.5 tsp, 8 oz, 203 degrees, 3 minutes, French Press
Dry Leaf and Brewing Aroma: light malts and honey
Flavor: Why, WP, WHY?!?!? Every time I think I've found my favorite tea, I end up with another ...

Dry Leaf Aroma: Lightly Evergreen

Flavor: Fascinating. This was a very mild and lovely tea. It definitely doesn't look like most teas. The buds are very pretty. This wasn't sweet, but it...
Campfire Blend from Whispering Pines
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 28th, 2014
Method: 1/2 tsp, 8 oz, 208 degrees, 5 minutes, French Press
Dry Leaf Aroma: Smells exactly like a campfire
Flavor: Luckily the flavor is more subdued. I was a little unsure if I could like a tea that smelled so strongly of a campfire. This tea definitely tastes smoky, but it's mild enough to be pleasant. Th...

Method: 1.5 tsp, 208 degrees, 8 oz, 5 min, French Press
Dry Aroma: The elderberries are center stage. I don't even smell any cinnamon, which surprised me.
Brewing Aroma: Now there's the cinnamon, but the elderberries are gone
Flavor: Cinnamon is the most obvious flavor. I don't taste the elderberries out...

I really want to go camping…
Method: 1.5 tsp @ 208 degrees for 3 minutes in 8 oz., French Press
Dry Leaf Aroma: Smoke, Ginger Ale, and Cream Ale. Not ginger or cream. Specifically ginger ale and cream ale. Crazy!
Brewing Aroma: The smoke calmed way down. I can smell the black tea and a very subtle sweetness....
Bi Luo Chun Yunnan Black from Whispering Pines
Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Yunnan, China87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5

Oh my. This is a good one! The dry tea leaves smell like malty cookies with a hint of jasmine. Malty Jasmine cookies! I want to bake some to go with this tea.
The brewed tea smells less floral and more sweetly malty. And the flavor... it's very sweet on its own, without any additives. I love that. It tastes m...
Traditional Tieguanyin from Whispering Pines
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: Fujian, China63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
May. 31st, 2014
This was a good tea, but I wasn't blown away. Interestingly, the dry tea smells like pumpkin guts. That's the second time I've smelled tea leaves with this aroma within a week. It's very pleasant, but I'm a little confused.
That being said, I didn't pick up on any nuances in the flavor. The flavor here seems hea...
Imperial Gold Bud Dian Hong from Whispering Pines
Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Yunnan, China73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

The dry aroma on this tea is really interesting. It smells malty, and there's a general roasty aroma. It smells like something I have smelled before, but I cannot place the aroma.
The tea steeps to a light yellow amber color and I taste the same malty/roasty type scents from the aroma.
It's a little pricey,...
Port from Whispering Pines
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

If tea had a gender, I would call this a manly tea. The dry tea smells woody, and I could pick out some hints of grape. Not sure where that came from. There's a warm vanilla scent, and an unidentified note that I believe is the saffron.
The brewed tea smells warm, and reminds me of a cozy night spent reading in...
Golden Orchid from Whispering Pines
Style: Vanilla Black Tea – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 14th, 2014
Wow, what a tea! I was a little worried because the dry tea smelled like chocolate, but there was also a sharp scent I couldn’t quite identify. Once steeped, I could just smell the chocolate. Yum.
The cocoa flavor is pronounced, but not overpowering. The tea has a lovely sweetness and doesn’t need any additives ...
