Clove aroma and taste with additional whiffs of I don't know what.. maybe nutmeg and black pepper.
Overall very pleasant. I got a sample of this and will definitely get more. A good choice late in the day for a caffeine free cup

This was my first experience with Tulsi or Holy Basil. I was extremely impressed. The aroma is warm and welcoming with hints of earth, cinnamon, and spices. The flavor is reminiscent of a spearmint tea with spices and perhaps cardamon and cloves. The flavor is well rounded and very enjoyable.
I haven't had it enou...

I've never had tulsi before. It reminded me of chamomile tea, but stronger and more lemon-y, maybe. I really enjoyed it.

The best word for this tea is comforting. It's a nice tea for winding down. I wasn't blown away with the herbaceous flavor, but for a bagged tea I felt it was pretty impressive. I can easily get two good cups out of a bag.

A solid holy basil tea. Has the distinct basil flavor (though I've only tried one other so far), but with a hint of pepperiness. Definitely savory, not bitter. If you like a nice, smooth holy basil as a drink, this one is quite good. I do wish the taste was more robust, though, as it's relatively light--especially by t...

This is only my 2nd tulsi tea, but I'm thinking that tulsi may not be my thing. I didn't enjoy the aroma or flavor much. I've seen people mention that tulsi can have a citrusy flavor, but I didn't pick up anything like that here.

My all-time favorite example of Tulsi or holy basil is the purple-leafed variety sold by Upton Tea Imports. Since I had been highly impressed by the the green-leafed (Rama) and Vana varieties from Mountain Rose Herbs, liking each much better than their counterparts from Upton, I was excited to try this one.
It was ...

Dry leaf smells complex, like dried ginger and anise, with a hint of straw or hay. Much more complex than the only other example of Vana tulsi that I've tried.
Brews up a very strong, dark cup relative to the amount of leaf used. The brewed cup has a spicy and very complex aroma, and a piquant (sharp but enjoyable...

I keep Tulsi tea around for it's health properties, but the Original isn't my favorite. It's too grassy to be a flavor of it's own, I do not care for grassy/earthy flavors as a whole. This tea works better when lemon is added.
I do like how it helps calm nerves and reduce stress when consumed.

This tea is very different from what I usually drink, but I enjoyed it immensely. It has a very unusual flavor which is strong but not overpowering and definitely delicious. The smell of the tea alone is very calming. In a way, it reminds me of the smell of books, and honestly it might be worth buying the tea just for ...

For me, the flavor of this tea was the least interesting thing about it. It's complex, herbal, a bit cinnamon-spicy, less basil-like than I would have expected. Some bitterness, and it was annoyingly hard to stop little fragments of leaf from leaking into the brew, which is a pet peeve of mine. It disrupts the texture ...

I've been drinking this tea for the past two days, and really like it. It has a nice, light, spicy aroma, and a equally light and pleasant flavor. I thought this tea was refreshing and agree that it feels uplifting as well. I will definitely be drinking this again!

This is the green leaf, or Rama Tulsi. I prefer the red-leaf, or Krishna tulsi, but this is actually my favorite example of the green-leafed variety that I've tried.
I find green tulsi can sometimes have a metallic quality, and this quality is thankfully greatly diminished in this sample. This tulsi is smoother an...

This tea is okay. I don't usually like herbal teas very much, though. I don't like this flavor a whole lot. I added cream and sugar.

I just had my first cup of this tulsi and was pleased by it's flavor, texture, and aroma!
Overall I thought it was sweet and light, making it enjoyable to sip and relax with. To me, the scent was slightly floral and the taste smooth and pleasing. The aftertaste was sweet at first, adopting a tolerably faint bittern...

I used to grow Tulsi on my windowsill, and missed the lemony fresh brew that the dried leaves used to make. It was always a soothing, calming sup of calmness that I looked forward to. I found these teabags of a blend of Tulsi at my local Whole Foods Supermarket, and have found them to be a worthy addition to my cupboar...

Aroma mostly of licorice, but more complex, herbaceous, and spicy. Very summery aroma; this smells much more like familiar sweet basil and less like holy basil, which makes sense, as Vana tulsi is the same species as sweet basil, and a different one from the Rama and Krishna Holy basil, which I have tried (and drink r...

I've now tried quite a few different sources of tulsi and I can say that this is one of the best. This is the first blend I've tried--in the past I've only had Rama or Krishna tulsi, and I tend to prefer Krishna tulsi as it's smoother.
I brewed this with boiling water and let it steep for 15 minutes. Steeping less...

For me, this tea has been an acquired taste. Now, however, it is a favorite. Something about it is very calming - now it is my go-to bedtime tea.
The tea is sweet and spicy, and just the tiniest bit heavy.

Very different from the purple-leaf variety, which I like better.
This has a very strong metallic character in the taste, and the aroma suggests a metallic character too. The aroma is more similar to the purple variety, perhaps less of a cinnamon character and more clove.
I've also tried the green-leafed Tulsi f...

I had not tried tulsi (except possibly unknowingly as a seasoning) when I sampled this, and I fell in love after the first sip. The aroma is hard to describe, but very complex...I especially notice the anise and cinnamon, but I am usually not the biggest fan of these aromas, and I loved this tea. This is a very rich,...
