About Wuyuan, Jiangxi, China
Wuyuan(婺源) is a county in the northeastern part of Jiangxi province of China. Wuyuan is located in the northeastern part of Shangrao(上饶), a prefecture-level city, shown in light green on the map. Wuyuan is located close to many of the key tea producing regions of Anhui province, and also relatively near the Wuyi region of Fujian province.Wuyuan is a hilly and mountainous area, and has a humid climate.
Wuyuan produces a number of types of tea, including Wuyuan Mingmei (婺源茗眉), Wuyuan Xianzhi(婺源仙芝), and many others; many of the traditional teas from this region tend to be little-known and difficult to obtain in the West. Wuyuan has also recently begun producing styles of tea that originated elsewhere, including Keemun and white peony.
