A really clean-tasting peppermint with a nice menthol finish. Slightly herbal, but no straw or hay flavors that lesser peppermint teas sometimes have.

It's no big secret that I love peppermint, given that it pops up in my review docket almost as profusely as it does as a weed in cooler parts of the nation. As noted in one of my other reviews of a peppermint tea (Stash), it's hard, but possible, to screw up this herb as a tea.
Bigelow didn't screw this up. Their version has a clean, straightforward, unadulterated peppermint aroma and taste with more menthol than most bagged peppermint teas. It's not the strongest I've had, but very soothing and smooth--and highly recommended for those who like to toss a bit o'peppermint in to flavor another tea. My guess is that they process a lot of it rather quickly, and keep it fresh without lengthy storage times that would further evaporate the organic volatiles.
Breaking open the used bag, I saw few, if any, stems. The predominance of shredded, relatively fresh dried leaves likely also contributes to the extrusion of more essential oil to the top of the brew than most other brands, giving the surface something of a sheen or mint-oil slick. That's a good thing, telling you this tea hasn't been cheapened by filler such as lower-oil stems or non-mint material. This is a keeper.

I thought this one was all right. It's got that almost-sweet flavor about it, but not as much so as some other varieties. This seemed to contain more menthol than some of the other varieties of peppermint I've tasted, as well.

This is my first minty tea. I generally prefer peppermint over spearmint, so I was curious about this one. Definitely a clean, fresh taste. Delightful! I'm not always craving peppermint, but when I am this simple cup would satisfy that craving quite nicely without involving actual sugar (which I like to avoid, particularly in tea).

I find it interesting that Bigelow offers both this pure peppermint herbal tea, and the mint medley blend. The mint medley is more widely available and I prefer it, because I like spearmint more than peppermint in herbal teas. Both I think are quite good.
There are aspects of this pure peppermint tea that I like better than a number of other peppermint teas on the market.
In particular, this peppermint tea has some complexity to it, some rich herbaceous qualities. It is not as pure and candy-like, which is a plus for me, as I like the leafy, herbal qualities, they remind me more of brewing up an iced tea made from peppermint in the garden.
Just to clarify, the reason I'm rating this as "overpriced" is not because I think it is at all low quality, but just because, where I live, peppermint grows like a weed, so I'm unlikely to actually buy it.
So while I think Bigelow's peppermint tea bags are quite good, I'm unlikely to purchase them on my own.

I drink peppermint tea to soothe my stomach. I drink this or Celestial Seasonings' and they are pleasant tasting, but I don't think I've ever drank them for pure enjoyment. Warning, do not drink more than one cup at a time, or it'll will cause intestinal discomfort.
