A very peppery, spicy chai that with a surprisingly mild base tea.
The leaf is very finely broken, which made me afraid that this one would be too strong, but I find the black tea used as the base is very mild. I don't know where it's from, but it reminds me of some of the milder high-grown Ceylon teas.
Dominant spices are cardamom, clove, ginger, and black pepper. Thankfully, there's not too much cinnamon, which I like. But I find there is perhaps too much clove, ginger, and pepper for my taste.
The flavor is sharp and the cup has a pungent quality, and leaves a very peppery sensation on the palate. I agree with Sylvia that this tea is more spicy than I'd like, relative to the strength of the base tea.
I drank mine without milk but I could see the milk softening it or taking off the edge a bit. The problem is, I usually only like to add milk to teas that are much stronger.
Enjoyable, but I'd probably not buy again, I prefer either blending my own chai or buying a blend like Rishi's that strikes me as more balanced.

This tea is very aromatic. Even the dry leaf, inside a zip lock bag, emanates its aroma. I like the blend of spices. The flavor is a little more spicy than I'd like relative to the strength of the tea, but overall, I like it. I added cream and sugar.
