I had the opportunity to sample this at a small cafe that had only two tea bags left in their stock. It obviously was not fresh, as this tea was discontinued quite some time ago, and the copyright on the bag said 2007.
The tea was surprisingly drinkable and still retained quite a lot of flavor and aroma. Flavor was smooth, slightly sweet, with a hint of pleasant bitterness. Slightly astringent, and some of the fruity muscatel tones characteristic of Darjeeling.
Not bad, and far above average for a black tea bag from a mainstream brand.
I only brewed it once, and did not brew it particularly strongly, and it's possible that it had lost some of its edge over time.
I think it's a bit sad that this tea was discontinued as I like it better than some of Tazo's current selection that they've retained through the years. I'm happy that I had the opportunity to actually sample it before it vanishes completely.

I find this tea muscular but not particularly illuminating. Do not oversteep. Do not expect any kind of tea revelation, either. Passable.
