Special Blend Fairtrade Teabags from Bewley's Coffee and Tea Company

Style: Black Tea – Region: Kenya

72 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 17th, 2019

This tea tastes similar to Yorkshire Gold; maybe a little less bold since it is fully Kenyan. It brews a color similar to English Breakfast tea and has a nice smooth flavor without much bitterness. I found it lacking a caffeine punch similar to Irish Breakfast, but it will still wake you up in the morning. It is harder...

Original Blend from Lyons

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend

78 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 17th, 2019

I'm on a quest to try all the Irish teas, and Lyon's was on the list. I hear there is a rivalry of sorts between Lyon's and Barry's and I can see why. Both are quite good and I would be happy to drink either.

Lyon's is similar to Barry's Gold blend, and I found it to be a tad smoother, and Barry's to be a little bri...

Barry's Irish Breakfast from Barry's Tea

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: ?????

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 17th, 2019

It's been a while since I've had tea from Barry's. I've had the Gold Blend in the past and I really liked it so I figured I would try the Irish Breakfast. On the front on the box it says it's their "lightest and most refreshing blend," but I don't agree with that haha!

It brews up a nice dark color with some slight...

Traditional Afternoon from Williamson Tea

Style: Black Tea – Region: Kenya

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

You can find this tea at TJ Maxx, Marshall's, or Homegood, but it is not stocked on a regular basis. You can find the elephant caddies moreso than the boxed tea bags, and the boxes are no longer listed on Williamson's website, making me think that they are discontinued.

I tried this a year ago and it was an inexpen...

Ceylon Tea Bags from Ahmad Tea

Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

I haven't tried the loose leaf tea from Ahmad, but I did have the opportunity to try this tea as part of an assortment pack I purchased at Marshall's. You may also be able to find it at TJ Maxx or Homegoods.

It is a good Ceylon bagged offering that brews a nice golden color with good flavor without being too bitter....

Pure Green Tea (Original) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Green Tea – Region: China

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

The bagged tea of this type from Ahmad comes in individually wrapped bags in a 20 pack, and also in 50 circular bags in a larger pack. I found that the circular bags from Ahmad have a larger amount of tea than the individually wrapped bags. This is a straightforward Chinese green tea, but it is mellow and not astringe...

English Tea No. 1 from Ahmad Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

This tea came in an assortment pack purchased at a local Marshall's. It has a smaller amount of bergamot than the earl grey and I found it a quite appealing and relaxing cup of tea. It is not overly strong, but strong enough to wake you up in the morning. Definitely a step up from common teas at the supermarket.

Earl Grey from Ahmad Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

I prefer this over Twinings Earl Grey, but there was something about the bergamot flavor that I didn't like as much as other brands, such as Williamson or Dilmah.. Not too strong of a tea, even when steeped for 4 minutes. It is still a good tea for the price, however, and you can find it at the local TJ Maxx, Marshall'...

English Breakfast (Teabags) from Ahmad Tea

Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend

53 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 8th, 2015

Part of an Ahmad Tea assortment purchased at a local Marshall's.

Aroma was good, however, I found it quite average and lacking any distinction from the run of the mill brands at the grocery store. I find Ahmad's other offerings are quite good for the price, such as English Tea No. 1, Ceylon, and the green tea.
