Commercial Description
...combines hearty black teas from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Assam (India) to get your morning off to a bright start...It seamlessly blends the citrusy notes of a high-grown Ceylon with the malty underscore of a pungent Assam. Spicy and jammy aroma on the leaf, malty and deep flavor with a brisk and 'buzzy' mouthfeel. Rounded sweetness in the finish...

Prep: 8oz, sample packet, 212F, 5min
This is my first Irish breakfast tea (at least by the specific tea). This was a free sample in my most recent adagio box.
Aroma: I’ve had a few black teas from Adagio that were quite aggressive in their aromas. This is much more subtle; however, it’s very inviting. Reminds me of a nice cup of coffee in that it’s warming and inviting. 7/10
Taste: This is a nicely balanced and fairly malty tea. I’d go as far as to say this has some toasty and toasty character like a light stout. Very nice. 7/10
Body: This is fairly viscous. 8/10
Value: 1.50 per ounce makes this very cost effective. I usually do matcha first thing but I could see this being in my rotation. 9/10
Overall: For my first introduction to this style, I’m a fan. I think this will be a rebuy from me. 8/10

Nice mild brew that reminds me of the breakfast tea on the train between Edinburgh and London

I haven’t tried a lot of Irish breakfast teas, but I like this one. It has a very smooth quality. It’s caffeine isn’t actually too intense, and it doesn’t turn bitter easily the way some black teas can. This is a solid breakfast tea, I think. :-)

Adagio's Irish Breakfast is a well-priced aromatic blend that goes best with a bit of milk. I disagree with the company's "malty" descriptor. The dry leaf has a twangy jammy aroma that is very pleasant. An overall solid daily tea.

This is truly a seamless blend, as Adagio calls it, of their Ceylon Sonata and Assam Melody teas. It stands up well to milk and sugar, but doesn't *need* it as some Irish Breakfast teas do.

Rather mild. Fruity smell. Tastes woody, earthy, maybe a bit salty. Moderately astringent. I found it energizing.
I've tried the two Adagio teas that this is apparently a blend of, but this tastes totally different from either.

This is a really nice everyday black tea of moderate price and good quality. I am really picky about my Ceylon teas, like the 'Ceylon Sonata' that they use in this blend, and it is actually much improved in flavor by the 'Assam Melody' that they blend with it.
You get the typical nice robust aroma and flavor with the beautiful caramel colored infusion that is brisk and slightly malty.

This is a great tea. Great value. Strong but not too strong. Holds up well to sugar and milk. Good for the price.

This is a hearty great-tasting everyday tea. The aroma does not have the bouquet of more expensive teas, but the flavor is robust and delightful. If you're looking for a staple gourmet tea that you can afford to drink every morning, look no further.
