White Chai from The Persimmon Tree
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 2nd, 2014
The aroma starts out with a strong note of dried apples giving it a blend of sweet and just a hint of tart, this moved onto pepper, cloves, a but of cinnamon, and just a touch of cardamon and coconut at the finish. It certainly smells like a chai, but it has a tropical edge from the coconut and a much milder spice prof...

The aroma, well, with all these herbs in it is expectantly herbaceous, reminding me of a plethora of dried herbs hanging from an herb show. Of course there are floral notes, a touch of peppery warmth, and a tiny bit of celery. It reminds me a little of my mom's kitchen during winter, her drying kitchen herbs, a pot of ...

Style: Vanilla Black Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

So, how does this tea smell? Good, like really good, like a vanilla bean and almond infused biscotti dipped in chocolate with a touch of coconut sitting next to a steaming cup of rich, malty, black tea. Sniffing this tea makes me feel under-dressed and lacking elegance, clearly I should be wearing something pretty whil...

The aroma is gently floral, like you expect from a 'greener' oolong, but much more delicate. There are notes of lily, lilac, and honeysuckle, it reminds me of spring rather than a heady orchid filled conservatory.
Ah, ok, that tea is exactly what I needed! It is light and sweet with a very clean floral quality, it t...

Sep. 20th, 2014
The aroma of these pearls pretty intense, very heady jasmine with notes of fresh vegetation. It reminds me of standing next to a blooming jasmine late on a summer evening, the aroma of the flowers fill the air and the smell of growing things surround me.
For the first steeping the taste is fairly mild and the mouthf...

The aroma smells pretty varied, there are notes of roses, delicate peaches and apples, a touch of citrus, a bit of woody rooibis, a tiny bit of tart hibiscus, and lastly a sweet malty and caramel finish. It does not really smell like a crisp, but it does smell sweet and fruity, so I enjoy sniffing it.
Tasting the te...

Well, I can certainly say it smells good! The aroma is a blend of coconut, honey, and delicate floral with hints of lettuce and cream. It is very sweet and rich, especially strong in the coconut department.
There is the obvious taste of coconut, but there are also notes of honey, cream, tapioca, and a tiny touch of ...

The aroma of this very flowery pile of leaves is quite interesting, a blend of roses, mint, lavender, and a finish of green vegetation. The leaves smell like late spring time and nature, it reminds me of the smell of my mother's garden as I grew up, I love it!
Usually with a tea like this I would say something like...
Detox Blend from The Persimmon Tree
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 2nd, 2014
The aroma of this tea is seedy, not all shifty-eyed, but like actual seeds, especially fennel. There is a nice amount of coriander and an earthy root aroma as well. Sniffing it reminds me of the fennel mouth cleaners they have sitting out in Indian restaurants, I love those things!
The taste is earthy and root li...
Fruit Fusion from The Persimmon Tree
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 2nd, 2014
he aroma is very sweet and super fruity, I love all the different fruits and can certainly detect the strawberries, cherries and apples. There is a tartness from the fruit (and hibiscus flowers) as well but it is not as strong as the sweet. The aroma vaguely reminds me of a fruity trail mix and is making me kinda hungr...

Aug. 2nd, 2014
The aroma of the dry leaves is pretty intense, very strong anise aroma with touches of honey, yeasty bread, green stems, and just the faintest hint of pepper. It is strange to call such a spicy aroma heady, but it is like sniffing a spicy flower.
The first steep starts off quite sweet and rich, like honey drizzled y...

Wow, I am on a roll with teas this AM! Both selections so far are new, and both were very good. This white tea smells wonderful, and when brewed, it absolutely tastes like coconut.
I tried it without sugar, and then with a little added. It was good both ways, but I preferred it with a small amount of rock sugar. ...
Banana Coconut from The Persimmon Tree
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
May. 8th, 2014
I wanted to love this, but I can't taste anything past the chamomile. No banana or coconut. And I was really trying! I even stirred up the dry tea, because contents settle during shipping, and I thought that perhaps all the chamomile just made it's way to the top of the tin. Unfortunately, this didn't help. The ch...

The brewed color of this tea is gorgeous. It's a bright pinky red. But then the first sip: WOOO Sour!
It's hard for me to imagine anyone enjoying this without a sweetener. I added a tsp of rock sugar and suddenly all was right with the world. The tea really shines!
People not into sweetening teas should pr...
