Decaf Green Tea from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Green Tea – Region: China

63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
May. 25th, 2022

The tea bags are wrapped in paper inside a cellophane-sealed cardboard box. After opening the package, I put them into an airtight container.

The dry tea has a faint, grassy smell. The brewing tea smells quite a bit fresher than I expected. It's vegetal, slightly tannic and recognizably green tea.

For a decaf gre...

Blood Pressure from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: China

37 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Jan. 1st, 2019

Seeing the questionable claims made by some wellness-tea makers, including this one on its site, raises my blood pressure. That rather opposes the stated intent of this tea! Fortunately that effect is temporary. It's wise to heed the last part of RateTea's description of Triple Leaf: "Some of this company's product...

Jasmine Decaf Green Tea from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: ?????

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 26th, 2017

The teabags smell quite strongly of jasmine, so I only steeped this one two minutes since Jasmine can get bitter.

The brewing tea smells like jasmine, but the background aroma is sort of fishy, almost like some kinds of pu-erh. This tea tastes pretty much like most inexpensive jasmine tea. The jasmine flavor is nice...

White Tea (White Peony Tea) from Triple Leaf Tea

This tea came from an estate sale (good places to find teas you haven't tried before, really cheap!), in its originally wrapped box.

You know, it's pathetic what some of these highly paid marketing consultants can concoct. I reviewed a loose-leaf Basilur floral tea whose packaging blatantly pandered to romantical...

Ginger from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 10th, 2016

This is the best ginger tea I have ever tasted. It is strong in flavor and is 100% ginger root. There are no added flavors or ingredients. The only way to get ginger tea like this would be to grate the ginger root and boil it.

Ginger from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 27th, 2015

Despite sitting around my kitchen for some time, the "100% ginger root" in this tea bag still seems fresh and enjoyable. It has that distinct spicy ginger aroma and I can feel it going to work on my sore throat, so I'm feeling convinced that this product is what it's advertised to be. If you're trying ginger tea as a...

Cholesterid (Yunnan Tuocha) from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Yunnan, China

77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Sep. 15th, 2015

This is the first pu-erh tea I've had. I do not have high cholesterol but this was the least expensive pu-erh tea on the shelf and I wanted to try pu-erh so home it came.

Overall happy with the mild taste and that it has some health benefits. The next time I may try another brand to see how it compares but this one ...

So, this is a tea I picked up at a fairly local Asian supermarket. I'd finished all the pu-erh, and I wanted to be sure we had some in the house. This met all the technical specifications and it came home with my wife and me. It's fine, not like fine as in quality, but fine as in adequate. This is an adequate tea.

When you open the tea you get hit with a strong ginger scent but the ginger taste is subtle. I like to add lemon for some additional flavor. I enjoy ginger tea after a large meal.

Ginger from Triple Leaf Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 11th, 2014

The tea bag smells really wonderful, and very strongly, of ginger...much fresher smelling than most dried ginger.

Upon brewing, it's not quite as strong as I had hoped. I steeped for quite some time, about 8 minutes, in boiling water, and it produced a light liquor with only a moderate ginger bite to it--when I mak...

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 11th, 2009

The benefits of this tea are well-established. This tea is not the most exotic in terms of its aroma, and its slightly musty flavor is an acquired taste. The favor is inferior to an oolong tea in my opinion, but the healthful effects offset this disadvantage. A convenient tea to brew where loose tea is not available...
