I enjoy this tea. It has a nice level of spiciness to it. I am not big on anise, but I think it works here. Ginger is definitely the most dominant spice, but it isn't overwhelming.

Half-litre pot at home, made from dark brown pu erh leaves with bits of dried lemon slice and dried cornflower petals. Pours clear dark amber (against white china) with no sediment. Intense aroma of vanilla and pu erh tea, with notes of lemon and some floral touches. Bitter flavour of pu erh, with sweetish notes of van...

After tasting the Breakfast blend, this one's a bit of a letdown. The cocoa, vanilla and spices are smooth and quite delicious, but I don't taste much of the tea. Other than a hint of earthiness, it tastes just like chocolate cream pie to me.
It's good, but it's a bit too expensive for something that only tastes lik...

I’ve always thought of chocolate tea as a bit of a conundrum. While I love chocolate, and I love tea, in almost every case attempting to blend the two leaves you with little more than a watered-down cup of hot chocolate. Call me crazy, but hot chocolate is supposed to be rich and creamy, and somehow nobody ever seems...

Sticking my nose into the bag, I found the aroma of the dry tea pleasant and strong. The main notes were of cinnamon, hazelnut, and chocolate. After brewing (at 200 F for 4 minutes) , those scents were more muted and subtle notes of graham cracker and campfire picked up.
The taste and aroma strike me as well blended...

This is an extremely good beginner Pu Erh. It has a very deep flavor that tastes like how the woods smell after rainfall. And has a leafy and tree bark aroma. Also, the hazelberry evens everything out perfectly, and gives a nice flavor that doesn't take anything away from the tea. I've found that i could only get a few...

My first pu-erh just had to be this, didn't it? As of now, I still haven't tried any other, and being an ignoramus of massive proportions about this type of tea, have no clue how it should taste. So what do I do? Drink a chocolate/nutmeg pu-erh with rooibos whose non-tea flavors (that I happen to like a lot) mask an...

I'm not a big fan of Shou Pu-erh, and I think Pu-erh tea bags usually tend to be terrible, but I thought this was a well-executed blend, and I think the ginger blends quite well with the base tea.
The aroma is distinctive. Because it's dried ginger, it reminds me a little more of gingerbread cookies than fresh ginge...

Ooooh, now this I like! This is my favorite flavored pu-erh by a lot. The tea is present, but not fishy. The fruity and nutty flavours blend perfectly with the chocolate bits, creating a complex and pleasing aroma and flavor. There is no bitterness, even after 5 minutes at boiling. Wonderful tea!
I also tried this t...

The dry tea has a strong smell that made me worry that it would taste artificial, but it doesn't. (And apparently the ingredients are in fact all-natural.) It's sweet, flavorful, and savory; like drinking a pie. Not too sweet, though, and it does have some detectable bitterness. As you'd expect, it has strong strawberr...

I'm not wholly sure what this stuff is, but it's pleasant and I've especially enjoyed having a cup after some shamefully indulgent meals. The first time I think I did so in order to simulate desert, but there's not a lot of chocolate here. It's more like mild spice blend with a hint of muted chocolate. There's some ear...

This was a really pleasant experience. I didn't know what to expect at first, thinking maybe the orange would be overbearing, but no way. The flavors are really well balanced - very mellow and hearty puerh flavor with a touch a tangerine, more suggesting at orange really. It's like a nice little accent instead of a sho...

This was the first puerh I had ever tried. I still love the scent. The orange peel and blue cornflower are just intoxicating to me for some reason.
That being said, the taste is pretty good. I've sampled enough varieties of teas now to be able to recognize excellent flavor from decent flavor. This is above decent, b...

Finally got to try a chocolate pu-erh!
Okay, this one was pleasant, but I feel like there are likely better versions out there. I can see why pu-erh can make a solid base for this kind of tea (the fish cake flavoring of it is muted by the chocolate), but it seems like the balance or the robustness of this one would ...

By both smell and flavor, I think this tea needs to be coupled with seafood--sushi would work great. The aroma in particular reminds me of Japanese fish cakes. There's also a very light natural creaminess to the texture/mouthfeel. It loses appeal as it cools, so use a very good mug or be prepared to it fairly quickly....

I think this is my first flavored shou. I did do one quick rinse, but mainly it was to wake up the leaves.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this, but damn… it’s really good. It absolutely tastes like chocolate, and the pu is very mild. No dirty flavors!
I added a little maple because chocolate should al...

The aroma is a blend of mango sweetness, nutty coconut, and a tiny bit of earthy and metallic Pu'erh. The coconut has a bit of that 'old' coconut oil aroma, it is not off putting and it is very faint.
The taste, oh man, it is so sweet! Very strong notes of mango and papaya. This fades into very strong notes of cocon...

Not sure about this one. I like the ginger. It's got a nice kick, which I enjoy, but the overall taste is a little weak. I brewed according to the directions, and steeped at the high end of the time range,
If I have enough left, I'll try using 1.5x to 2x the tea per 8 oz next time. I want to like this a little more...

This is a very interesting tea. It's got the body of a black/breakfast tea, but a flavor I prefer over that kind. The ginger works well with the pu-erh, which has an almost raw fish-like aroma and flavor that is better than that description might make it sound. This tea works really well with food.

This was the first Pu-erh style tea I ever tried, and I selected it because I love the seductive, alluring, sweet smell of cardamom spice. Now, I had read about Pu-erhs and how they are strange and "earthy," but I didn't really know what that meant.

Of the three pu-erhs we've tried by Numi (Chocolate, Cardamom, and Emperor's), this one was our favorite. Pu-erhs are earthy, reminiscent of a barnyard even, but this one has an appealing and definite festive aroma. Brings to mind eating warm gingerbread cookies in front of a toasty fire, or a busy bakery at Christmas ...

The aroma of this tea is almost all chocolate, vanilla, and spices. I do not detect any Pu Erh, just the truffle like aroma of chocolate. Once I steep the bag I start to notice some earthy Pu Erh but it is still mostly chocolate.
Tasting the tea leaves me a bit disappointed, not much in the way of Pu Erh flavor, it...

The aroma of this tea is so reminiscent of Chocolate Oranges that I think I got instantly transferred to a Christmas candy store. There is a bit of the Pu Erh Earthiness but mostly it is chocolate and oranges. Same for when the tea is steeped.
The taste is very smooth, sweet and well balanced. The chocolate and ora...
