Apple Meadow (Formerly Green Apple) from Bare Tea

This is a lovely tea. The green apple flavoring was pleasant and natural, not artificial or excessively tart. It went very nicely with the green tea. Great for when you want a lightly sweet fruit tea.

I do wish the flavor was a bit stronger--the more the tea cooled down, the more muted its flavor became. So once you...

Now THIS is what a blended green tea should taste like! Love the fruitiness. I tried this twice, once hot and once iced, and both times it was excellent. It was prepared for me at a local coffee shop, so I can't give recommendations on steep time, but I'll be sure to ask them next time I get tea there.

Very smooth, ...

Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green Tea from TeaVivre

80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 3rd, 2014

Wow. An excellent flavored tea for once!

I was intrigued to try this tea, in large part because TeaVivre tends to focus on traditional unflavored teas.

The leaf has a strong aroma of peach, and I notice little else, neither jasmine nor the base tea, but the peach smells rich and natural, like dried peaches rathe...

The aroma is primarily a blend of sweet oranges and sour lemon with a nice artichoke finish. The aroma of citrus always puts me in a good mood, it is like sunshine on a cold day, I smell it and I cannot help but smile.

The taste is both light and bright, it quenches the thirst and brings a feeling of happiness. A gr...

This was ok. The smell was really good, and I can taste the almond, although it's definitely a mild flavor.

The green tea base is a little grassy, but I guess that's normal. The almond was enough to balance it. Does this taste like almond grass? Kind of. But I would say the almond is first, then grassy almond m...

Green Ginger from Tazo Tea

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China

37 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 29th, 2014

I was really hoping for better. I think the fact that it's a green tea blend rather than a specifically chosen variety of green tea may have been part of the problem. It's a bit of a mess without any clear standout flavors, imo. I didn't notice any specific pear flavor, and even the ginger was fairly muted rather than ...

An impressive tea--not the sort of blend that I tend to ever like, and I found this quite pleasant.

I found it really interesting that Bare Tea released an apple-flavored tea, since I thought their masala chai actually had an uncanny apple flavor to it. This tea does remind me a bit of that one.

I tend not to li...

The blend of herbs is a blend of savory and faintly sweet with sharp notes of mint. The mint and basil are the most prominent notes with a finish of coriander and fennel.

The taste of this tea is pleasantly savory, blending strong herbaceous notes with cooked spinach. The herb bread analogy from earlier is holding ...

A very pleasant blend that is light and soothing. Only takes two to three minutes for a very flavorful and aromatic steep. Best using water of 175 to 180 degrees to get the full aroma.

Nothing poetic to say about this tea, just a very good blend that is inexpensive, flavorful and comforting!

The aroma is a lovely blend of nuttiness, vegetal and sweet. The brewed leaves have a toasted quality along with a blend of green beans and a hint of citrus. All the scents are subtle and balanced.

The taste is quite different from the traditional Japanese Genmaicha, more vegetal and herbaceous rather than grassy. ...

Marshmallow steals the show! Not necessarily the candy sweet but the sweetness of marshmallow root. There are also vegetal notes and a bit of mint. Once steeped the leaves have more mint and the marshmallow sweetness becomes more light, replaced with more vegetal.

The flavor is sweet and minty. Very mild and subtle...

I tried this at Panera trying to kill time before a movie. I was hesitant because some green teas are horrible, but I figured I could pitch it and get a different kind of tea if I didn't like it. I put two tea bags in a large cup and added two sugar in the raws.

It was too hot and there was no way I was going to be...

At first I was worried because all I could smell was vanilla when I opened the tea, no smell of tea! After steeping that changed, the vanilla mixed with the green smell of the tea. The tea tastes wonderful! Slightly sweet with mild vanilla and bright green. Definitely a favorite!

This tea impressed me, and I'll say it is not only the only citrus-flavored green tea that I have really enjoyed, but it is also my favorite flavored tea from Adagio yet!

The dry leaf has a strong aroma of lime and citronella, but upon brewing, the citrus aroma is more subdued.

The aroma has a pleasing, grassy an...

Style: Rose Green Tea – Region: China

93 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 18th, 2012

SerendipiTea’s Rose Alongi is a blend of organic Chinese green tea and rose petals. The tea leaves on their own smell grassy. After it’s brewed, the tea smells like fresh roses with a definite (and pleasant) undercurrent of green tea.

This is a smooth and slightly sweet tea. It’s light-bodied and leaves a wond...

I was skeptical of the tea because the scent reminded me of Honey Smack cereal (minus most of the sweetness), and I was never too fond of Honey Smacks.

This tea grew on me as is cooled down. When the tea was still hot, all I tasted was the puffed rice, and I couldn’t help but feel like I was drinking watery porri...

May. 29th, 2011

My first Genmaicha. Usually I drink Chinese teas, or at least Chinese style teas, so this is a bit of a departure for me.

This tea does not retain much of its Sencha characteristics, or at least they are somewhat covered up in the general style. The tea is brewed to a light color, a bit surprising for the aroma and ...

If you want a really smooth green tea, try this one. The honey really mellows out the green tea, and provides a soothing cup to drink.

The scent while brewing is a nice, sweet honey scent, followed by tangy green tea. It really enticed me to drink it!

Strong gingery aroma: dried ginger, not particularly fresh. The aroma is also suggestive of licorice. Lemongrass is noticeable in the aroma. Not much green tea presence. Spicy overall. Flavor is muddled. Color is a rich golden orange. Peppery aftertaste.

While I've had a lot worse, this one just didn't do it ...

The aroma is light and sweet offering slight notes of the ginger. The falvor is nicely sweet and a touch spicey. The pear really doesn't come through all that strong. The tea itself is of decent quality coming from a bag. This is one of my favorite bagged teas.

Orange Sencha from Two Leaves and a Bud

Aroma mostly of orange peel, overwhelming the green tea. The orange in the aroma is not particularly fruity, and has a dry quality to it. Although the tea presence is weak, I find that it blends well with the orange, but produces a tea that has an imbalanced aroma, coming across more like a cleaning solution than a t...

Whereas people often think of roses as delicate and gentle, this is a very bold tea. The aroma is fruity, dark, and rich, and less floral than one would expect. The flavor is sharp and tangy, much more bitter than the fruity aroma might suggest. This is an outstanding tea, and is available at a very reasonable price...
