Yorkshire Gold from Yorkshire Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

My wife tells me that this tea reminds her of the best of the teas from her father's shop in Canada. An elegant yet rich afternoon tea; my choice when friends drop in or after dinner. Splash of milk is all this beauty needs. Way above an average tea.

This was my go to afternoon tea until I tasted the Yorkshire Gold. Lovely, intriguing aromas and rich body. Great with a splash of milk. N.B.: This tea MUST be kept in an airtight container as it fades away very quickly when left in the box.

UPDATE: Good Assam with fine aroma, full bodied with that slight weakness in mid-palate characteristic of pure Assams, smoky finish. One negative: it seems to have a short shelf life as loose tea. As I write this, it is harvest time in Assam, and this tea (fresh from the vendor) seems to be faded or of lesser quality.

Simply put, this is the finest Earl Grey I've yet to try. Perfect balance of bergamot with the rich tea used. Fine aroma, flavor and finish.

A few years ago, this was a very good tea. Just tried the current release. Bleh! An overly herbacious black tea overwhelms the rest of the cup.

After having been underwhelmed by the Barry's Irish Breakfast, I tried the Barry's Gold hoping for more. By using 3 bags for a 12 oz. cup and steeping 5 to 7 minutes, this is a fairly good Irish Breakfast tea. The malty aromas (with the somewhat offsetting peachy notes), rich full body, strength without overwhelming as...

TJ's version of Irish Breakfast tastes like primarily Kenyan OP with a bit of Assam added for depth and body. There is not much of the malty character I look for in an Irish Breakfast tea. I have some loose leaf single estate Kenyan OP's which taste and smell very similar and make great iced tea. I think iced tea is wh...

This is my everyday breakfast tea. Deeper and darker colored than an English breakfast, this very full-bodied black tea (with a splash of milk) is one of the most satisfying teas I've ever had. Not elegant, but full throttle flavors and finish. I buy it 2# at a time for $32. UPDATE: Special Teas has closed its doors. O...

Fair nose dominated by the bergamot. Made from the bag, the steeped tea has no truly distinctive flavors. My guess is that by the time it made it through the distribution chain, all the life had oxidized out of this tea.

Wonderfully full and rich grassy aromas. Medium-full body mouth feel and a long, pleasantly smooth finish
