This tea is named somewhat differently in the US vs Europe but I'm pretty sure it's the same. In Germany it's "Assam TGFOP1 Ananda" with "Second Flush" underneath, whereas in the US the grade is omitted in the name, but clarified in the tea's description so I'm pretty sure it's the same thing.
The dry leaf is pleasa...

A very enjoyable, almost prototypical Assam, but of very good quality. Another of the many samples recently brought back to me from Germany.
Dry leaf aromatic, but doesn't quite betray the true beauty of this tea.
Upon brewing, produces a richly aromatic cup, full-bodied, and with both warming and cooling qualit...
Nr. 922, Earl Grey no. 69 from TeaGschwendner
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 10th, 2015
A relatively bold-flavored Earl Grey, strong on the bergamot, and a little perfumey. Another sample brought back from Germany.
The leaf is broken, but the pieces of leaf are relatively large. Leaf is very aromatic, and smells fresh, and mostly of bergamot.
Brewed as recommended, 2 minutes, produces a richly col...
East Frisian Leaf Blend from TeaGschwendner
Style: East Frisian Tea (Ostfriesentee) – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

A strong black tea blend of very good quality. Another sample brought back from Germany.
Brews up a rich, dark cup that is only moderately aromatic. The aroma is very malty and slightly vegetal. The flavor is very smooth up-front, but there's a tannic edge towards the end of the sip, which I found quite pleasant....
Nr. 291, Festive Tea™ Darjeeling FTGFOP1 Okayti First Flush from TeaGschwendner
Style: Darjeeling First Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

A very light first flush Darjeeling with a unique character.
A present brought back from Germany, does not look like it's available in the U.S. I found this tea fascinating, as it's an example of a "holiday-themed" tea that is a single-estate pure tea of a high grade, and I normally associate "holiday teas" with fl...
Kenya GFOP Milima from TeaGschwendner
Style: Black Tea – Region: Kericho, Kenya91 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

My favorite tea from TeaGschwendner yet! I thought this was among the best Kenyan black teas I've sampled, and among the best of all African teas for that matter.
Brews a rich, dark, full-bodied cup with a strong but subdued aroma and an exceptionally smooth flavor. The aroma is complex and hard to describe: it se...
Assam SFTGBOP Tonga Second Flush from TeaGschwendner

A sample from the store in Regensburg, Germany. Thank you for the sample!
Dry leaf has a remarkable aroma, strong, spicy and fruity, reminiscent of potpourri. The smell of the dry leaf is incredibly pleasant, and is what I liked most about this tea, although the rest was enjoyable too.
The brewed cup is much mo...
South Korea Seogwang from TeaGschwendner
Style: Green Tea – Region: Jeju, South Korea67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

Purchased in the TeaGschwendner store in Regensburg, Germany. The company describes this tea as intense and reminiscent of Japanese green teas, and I agree on both counts.
The dry leaf is aromatic but in a sort of edgy way that I'm not sure if I like. It's fresh and suggests a cooling quality, but is a bit harsh, ...
Vietnam Yen Bai OP Organic from TeaGschwendner
Style: Black Tea – Region: Vietnam67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5

Purchased in the TeaGschwender shop in Regensburg, Germany.
Dry leaf is not very aromatic; it faintly suggests cocoa.
Brews up a very typical cup. I used TeaGschwendner's recommendation of 4 minutes, but used less leaf than they recommend, and this produced results that I liked. I was able to make a second stee...
Russian Samovar Tea from TeaGschwendner

A delightful tea that was very easy to appreciate, but had a lot of depth when I paid more attention to it. Thank you to my parents for choosing this tea and giving me a sample!
Dry leaf, which is relatively finely broken, is mildly but very pleasantly aromatic, suggesting a gentle black tea. The smell of the dry ...
