Chinese Jasmine from Bare Tea

Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: China

90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

Outstanding. This was one of the most interesting Jasmine teas I've ever tried. I normally don't think of jasmine as being complex, but this one was multifaceted and I kept finding different qualities in it each time I sipped it.

The tea bag and dry leaf smell almost minty, light, fresh, and cooling.

Upon brewi...

Apple Meadow (Formerly Green Apple) from Bare Tea

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: China

Mar. 22nd, 2014

An impressive tea--not the sort of blend that I tend to ever like, and I found this quite pleasant.

I found it really interesting that Bare Tea released an apple-flavored tea, since I thought their masala chai actually had an uncanny apple flavor to it. This tea does remind me a bit of that one.

I tend not to li...

Yunnan Gold from Bare Tea

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

This tastes a lot like other examples of high-quality Yunnan Gold teas that I've tried.

Pyramid sachets are very aromatic!

Upon brewing, produces a cup with numerous subtle aromas. I initially get caraway and rye in the aroma, but then vanilla and caramel. Underneath, there are cocoa tones. Flavor is extremel...

Japanese Sencha from Bare Tea

Style: Sencha – Region: Japan

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 2nd, 2014

Definitely among the best senchas (if not the best) that I've ever had from a tea bag!

Flavor is mild and a little brothy. Aroma is slightly toasty, slightly seaweedy.

Easily brews two infusions...the first two cups are outstanding for a tea bag, although they have less of that pleasant sweet grass quality that ...

Masala Chai from Bare Tea

A sample from the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival. After being impressid with this company's English Breakfast, I was eager to try this one. It's enjoyable, but nothing like what I expected. I've tried this several times and can't shake the impression that it tastes and smells strongly of apples, particularly, ...

English Breakfast from Bare Tea

Style: English Breakfast – Region: Anhui, China

83 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 11th, 2013

Initially sampled at the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival, but I'm glad I sampled this on my own because I liked it even more when I brewed it myself. An unusual Keemun with both cooling and warming qualities. Strong enough to be a breakfast tea, but stands out among both other English Breakfasts and other Keemun...
