Picture of Aged Puerh Tea Brick

Aged Puerh Tea Brick from Numi Organic Tea

Style: Pu-erh Tea – Region: Yunnan, China

44 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 12th, 2023

So, I am going to generalize with this review as there is not a lot going with this offering from Numi.

After breaking the first bar piece off I actually put this in the back of my cupboard, a few years later it has resurfaced, and I decided to give it a go.

No matter the water temp, steep time, serving temp (hot...

Black Tea from Lipton Tea

Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????

45 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 5/5

Lipton gets a bad rap. I get it too. It’s light, bland, and shallow.

I over-steeped my tea because I start with water that is less than a rolling boil, but really it was because I needed all that time to bring out any semblance of taste.

Lipton is a tea, but that’s about it.

Pomegranate Pizzazz® Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea

Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????

78 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 7th, 2020

Steeped for a little over 5 minutes, with near boiling water, in a 10oz tea for one pot yielding two cups.

I personally liked this. Compared with something like Bigelow Pomegranate Green Tea it’s apparent that the flavor is not true pomegranate but more like a fruit tea that happens to be geared towards the tart f...

Earl Grey Tea Bags from Taylors of Harrogate

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

Let’s be honest, you probably know what Earl Grey tastes like.
How does this iteration stack up? Splendidly.

Bagged, 10oz, 5:30 steep time. This particular steep was perfect, with distinct black tea through the sip and a bergamot rushing in to match it.

I used to drink Twining’s Earl Grey by the box. It got ...

Lemon Ginger from Yogi Tea

Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend

65 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 5th, 2020

Steeped with just boiling water for 5 minutes. Served in enamel tin mug.

Notes of ginger and lemongrass on the nose. I'm not getting much lemon to be honest, perhaps this is just my palate. In retrospect with this comment, it may be better off with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice as one might add to a good black tea....
