In my latest black tea frenzy, I decided to give this one a try since it seems pretty unique.

I think this is a good example of Tie Guan Yin. This one is definitely of the greener, less oxidized and less roasted variety.
The dry leaf aroma is very pleasant and "green".
When brewed the aroma is very fresh veggie-like, with notes of butter, and floral as well. Not intensely floral, but it's there.

My first "milky" oolong. Hmmm...
The aroma of the dry, dark, greenish-brown balls is overpoweringly sweet. I was shocked at how much it smells like caramel popcorn, with a creamy milk-like background. Quite bizarre, and smells more like something I'd eat rather than drink.

Yet another tea from this company that I've been ordering lately. Originally, I received a free sample of their Big Red Robe along with a few gaiwans I ordered from them. Since then I've been buying this tea regularly.

I am still fairly new to oolongs. Wow there is such variety, hard to pronounce names, entire worlds of flavor and aroma...I doubt I could explore them all in one lifetime :)
I had never heard of Gui Fei oolong. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about this oolong, unless it's perhaps known by other name...

So ever since a local shop stopped carrying my favorite teas I haven't really purchased much black tea lately.
I've been impressed with this company's teas so far, and went ahead and added this one to a recent order.
The aroma of the dry, thin, slightly curly leaves is very nice...caramel and maybe a little fresh ...
