Keemun Mao Feng from Music City Tea
Style: Keemun Mao Feng – Region: Anhui, China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

Less than $6 for 2 ounces?...I couldn't resist :)
The tiny curly leaves smell of earth and perhaps a cinnamon sweetness.
I brewed this "semi-western" style (I normally use gong fu style). Using 4 grams of leaf in a 10 ounce teapot.
With this particular setup, my goal is to get two infusions (about 20oz of tea in ...
Black Fairy from Music City Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Wuyi, Fujian, China93 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 25th, 2017
In my latest black tea frenzy, I decided to give this one a try since it seems pretty unique.
It is apparently a black (more fully oxidized) version of the Water Fairy oolong, which interested me.
I've seen that various companies offer black tea versions of oolongs such as Tie Guan Yin and even Alishan tea.
I've...
Ti Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) from Music City Tea
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: Anxi, Fujian, China83 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 14th, 2017
I think this is a good example of Tie Guan Yin. This one is definitely of the greener, less oxidized and less roasted variety.
The dry leaf aroma is very pleasant and "green".
When brewed the aroma is very fresh veggie-like, with notes of butter, and floral as well. Not intensely floral, but it's there.
This is...
Jin Xuan Milk Oolong from Music City Tea
Style: Milky Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 2nd, 2017
My first "milky" oolong. Hmmm...
The aroma of the dry, dark, greenish-brown balls is overpoweringly sweet. I was shocked at how much it smells like caramel popcorn, with a creamy milk-like background. Quite bizarre, and smells more like something I'd eat rather than drink.
There's a lot of controversy with Milk ...
High Mountain Taiwan Alishan from Music City Tea
Style: High Mountain Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 24th, 2016
One of the 3 or 4 high mountain Taiwan oolongs that Music City offers. The company pretty much uses the same description for each of them, so I think a little more detail would be nice.
I usually get my green oolongs from Upton, but am always on the lookout for light oolongs from other companies so gave this one a ...
Big Red Robe from Music City Tea
Style: Da Hong Pao – Region: Wuyi, Fujian, China87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 22nd, 2016
Yet another tea from this company that I've been ordering lately. Originally, I received a free sample of their Big Red Robe along with a few gaiwans I ordered from them. Since then I've been buying this tea regularly.
As I understand it, this is one of the "house teas" that comes from the owner's tea farming vil...
Gui Fei Oolong from Music City Tea
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 22nd, 2016
I am still fairly new to oolongs. Wow there is such variety, hard to pronounce names, entire worlds of flavor and aroma...I doubt I could explore them all in one lifetime :)
I had never heard of Gui Fei oolong. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about this oolong, unless it's perhaps known by other name...
Bai Lin Gong Fu Organic from Music City Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Wuyi, Fujian, China87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 19th, 2016
So ever since a local shop stopped carrying my favorite teas I haven't really purchased much black tea lately.
I've been impressed with this company's teas so far, and went ahead and added this one to a recent order.
The aroma of the dry, thin, slightly curly leaves is very nice...caramel and maybe a little fresh ...
