Are my taste buds missing something here? This is an expensive oolong, and Alex Z. gave it a good review. But it really did not do much for me, sorry to say. There is a little floral aroma, and it tasted light and fairly simple. Nothing to get excited over. Maybe I did not get a good bag of it for some reason or o...

Almond Oolong from Adagio Teas

Thank you to my friend Joe for giving me this sample!

The aroma of the dry leaf is intense and intoxicating, an intense fragrance of marzipan or sweeet almond, like stinging your nose in a bottle of amaretto or almond extract. It's pretty much all flavoring; I can't discern any qualities of the underlying tea from t...

This has turned out a surprise favorite. The aroma of the dry leaf is of fairly intense almond extract. After brewing, the almond aroma is still strong but a bit more blended and muted. The oolong and almond flavors work very nicely together. The tea also does pretty well with a second steeping. I may get this one in m...

Possibly not the best tea for you based on the other ratings on this tea. But I found it to be spectacular! It is a much darker oolong and could even be mistaken for a black tea by a non-enthusiast. It has an extremely peachy smell when you open up the box that flows through your nose. The taste is not very complex, an...

Ginseng Oolong (King's Tea) Fourth Grade from Ten Ren Tea

Style: Ginseng Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Mar. 23rd, 2017

Ten Ren's King's Tea has been my favorite for years. The base tea is high quality to begin with and the ginseng is subtle enough that the flavors blend well. It's difficult for me to tell where the tea flavor ends and the ginseng begins.

On the tongue, the tea is lightly bitter with an initial grassy flavor that giv...

I like the mild peach flavor that doesn't overpower the oolong flavor of this tea. It is reasonably priced, and shipped in a foil lined pouch so that it remains fresh. The smell when you first open the bag is amazing, and the tea has a similar flavor

As a big peach flavor fan, I was a bit disappointed how weak the peachy flavor was - not nearly as strong as their black peach tea. It smells deliciously peachy but the flavor just isn't quite there. It still tastes good, but if you really want that fruit flavor (and I do!) I'd suggest something else.

Grapefruit Oolong from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 8th, 2015

Surprisingly good, though not a favorite. It has a relatively dark/roasted flavor from the tea (which isn't my favorite but was done well for what it is) and a lighter grapefruit flavor than I expected based on the smell of the dry leaf. The citrus flavoring really improved this style of oolong for me.

The second cu...

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I found the aroma to be very green, like bamboo leaves and herbaceous like dill weed. There is also earthiness and the aroma of baked bread with a slight undertone of sweetness. The ginseng is an odd smelling herb, it gives a slight muskiness to the already herbaceous aroma.

The taste is strange yet good, it is the ...

It's been a long time since I tried a ginseng oolong, so I'm not the most experienced reviewer of this type of blend.

Dry leaf shows a dusty appearance, and has a strong but muted aroma, suggestive of greener oolongs, but perhaps more woody and earthy.

Upon brewing, the aroma is predominately of oolong and the ...

Almond Oolong from Adagio Teas

The initial aroma of the leaves is unmistakably almond, sadly I do not smell any Oolong at first and that made me a bit hesitant. After brewing the smell of almond subsides and the oolong shows itself. The taste is very mild, light almond and Oolong flavors for an overall subtle tea.

This tea smells like those gummy candy peach rings, which I don't particularly like. I'm not very fond of this tea, but I don't normally like peach flavored teas or teas with peachy notes very much. I added cream and sugar.

This tea has a great grapefruit aroma. The tea itself has a citrus flavor. There is also a woodsy oolong flavor underneath the grapefruit. The woodsy might have been the sunflower petals. I liked it with a small amount of natural rock sugar. My daughter likes it with a bit of lemon.

Ironically, this tea is significantly less peachy in aroma than a number of pure (unflavored) oolongs I've had, including Adagio's own Dancong Aria.

The aroma is mostly of roast, and the roast is quite heavy. The base oolong really reminds me a lot more of a Chinese oolong than one from Taiwan. A hint of woody ton...

With over 50 loose leaf teas in my cupboard, this is one of my consistent favorites. The peach aroma and flavoring is distinct, but not overwhelming. The nutty roasted oolong base continues to shine through. This is a solid tea at a great price.

I'm giving this sort of low marks because I am not fond of flavoring every tea you can get your hands on. Most good teas have their own good flavors. That said, this was a very nice blend with a good tea base and a good flavor. But I would rather have had a peach and a cup of tea.

Aroma is light and floral; it's almost impossible to tell where the tea ends and the lilac begins: the two fragrances blend seamlessly. This tea does have a hint of the soapy quality that I find plagues some Tung Tings, in contrast to TT86, which wasn't my favorite tea, but lacked this soapiness.

I was disappointed...

I havn't tried too many oolongs. This was my first flavored oolong. At first I didn't like it. But I think I just had to figure out how to correctly brew it: use enough leaves and leave them in long enough. I like the vanilla smell. And the vanilla flavor is not too strong. It goes well with oolong I think. I'll order...
