Irish Breakfast Decaffeinated from Twinings

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: ?????

77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I like this tea - it's very strong and dark. I have a be careful when brewing it because there's a short window of time that it comes out good - for me about 3 minutes. After that it starts to get very bitter and astringent. I'm starting to notice that in general, it's hard to find decaf black teas that have a lot of f...

I like this tea. It has a nice blend of spices. The aroma is characterized by clove. I added cream and sugar. I notice that it's even better with vanilla added.

Almond Chai from Twinings

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

I tried this because I usually like chai and nut flavored teas. This tea has too much cinnamon for my taste, and it seems to overwhelm the other flavors. I like the almond. The base tea isn't very strong. I added cream and sugar.

Green Tea from Twinings

Style: Sencha – Region: ?????

53 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5

This tastes like a typical low-quality green tea. I don't usually like green tea very much. I like this better than higher quality green teas, but nothing stands out to me about it. It has a very mild flavor. I added cream and sugar.

Style: Vanilla Chai – Region: ?????

73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

This tea doesn't smell much like chai, it smells like a combination of orange peel and caramel. I actually really like the flavor, though. I had to brew it for 7 minutes to make it strong enough. The flavors blend together pretty well. I added cream and sugar.

I'm not crazy about the flavor of this tea. It's a little bitter, and very sensitive to brewing time. I brewed it for 2 minutes and that seems to be optimal. I usually brew tea for at least 4 minutes because I like it strong. I added cream and sugar.

Lady Grey from Twinings

Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend

40 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
Apr. 11th, 2013

This tea has a heavily citrus aroma. The tea doesn't taste very good to me, but I don't know what Lady Grey is supposed to taste like. It tastes very citrus and has a weak tea flavor. I like it enough to finish the cup, though. I added cream and sugar.

Darjeeling from Twinings

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

This tea is pretty good, actually. I'm surprised because I don't usually like darjeeling or Twinings that much. I often find Twinings teas to be too bitter, and darjeeling teas to be too sickly sweet/vegetal tasting, but in this tea, the qualities seem to balance each other out, and it tastes like a normal, pretty good...

This tea is pretty good. It has a nice smoky aroma, but it's too weak, and on the verge of being too bitter, like other Twinings black teas I've tasted. I really like the smoky flavor, though. I added cream and sugar.
