One-litre pot at home, made from broad green-brown leaves and top shoots of Pai Mu Tan tea. Pours clear straw (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of white tea leaves, with malty touches. Delicate, leafy flavour with hints of flowers and malty touches. Leafy aftertaste. A very nice, delicate and unpreten...

This tea is amazing! It has a mild chocolatey/cocoa butter flavor which is really nice. The tea is so smooth and buttery and not astringent or bitter at all!

I've had this for a few weeks now, but I've put off this review because this is my first pure white tea. The leaves were picked in April of 2016, making the tea a little over two years old as of this review. It has a gentle yet complex aroma of autumn leaves, vanilla, cinnamon, old books, and hints of flowers and spice...

I thought this was an above-average white peony or bai mu dan.
Dry leaf smells different from any other White Peony tea I've tried, notes of candied citrus peel, a sort of bittersweet smell, a slight pungency, almost hinting at camphor. I'm intrigued, and eager to try this to see what kind of cup this leaf produces...

This tea exhibits a pure, delicate flavor -- essentially what every white tea is described as by the company that sells it. It has no bitterness and a smooth flavor. When in the mood for a straightforward, pure tea that isn't grassy, this is a nice choice.
To prepare this tea, I used the Chinese method I was shown a...

I tried this together with Upton's ZW42. I actually liked this one a lot, and not the other.
Brews up a dark, full-bodied cup that, like the other compressed white tea cake, is rather bitter. I find the bitterness more blunt though, whereas ZW42 has a sharp bitterness.
The aroma is strange and hard to describe....

This tea came from an estate sale (good places to find teas you haven't tried before, really cheap!), in its originally wrapped box.
You know, it's pathetic what some of these highly paid marketing consultants can concoct. I reviewed a loose-leaf Basilur floral tea whose packaging blatantly pandered to romantical...

This is a great tea for most people. Green tea can be more of an acquired taste and red(black) tea can be heavy on the tannins, but this white peony is right in the middle of tea flavors. Both the smell and the taste are more floral than other teas, so beware if you decide to steep it extra strong. You can steep the te...

Very nice tea. I enjoy white teas, especially silver needle, but that can be expensive for daily consumption. This tea, on the other hand, is more affordable and has that distinctly white tea taste. It is not as sweet or smooth as silver needle, but it is nevertheless very light, delicate, and simple.
I prepared 5g ...

The aroma of the fluffy leaves is pretty mild, you really need to sniff hard to detect much of an aroma, but when you do there are notes of cucumbers, melons, and a hint of paper and sage.
The taste is, well, you know, it is ok. Nothing to jump up and down about, it starts off with mild notes of cucumber and celery,...

Excellent! Another sample served at Velvet Sky Bakery.
The leaf was rather broken, but this may have been due to being packed in the small sample container: this is a very fragile, large-leafed tea.
Brews up a clear, light-colored cup that is on the delicate side for a white peony. Aroma is floral, with notes o...

Eh, this one wasn't bad, not my favorite though. I didn't notice anything outstanding here. I was expecting more of a floral smell than it produced, and more flavor. It reminded me of a light green tea, similar to what Emily suggested.
I will give extra points for this being organic!

As a pure white tea, this wasn't bad, but it wasn't a flavor to get me excited. It didn't taste bitter to me, which was a plus, but overall it was fairly nondescript. (Or maybe I'm missing nuances because I need to internalize the language of tea better?)
I'm not sure what else to say about it. I'm sure people who p...

A top-notch white peony tea that I found a bit tricky to brew: aromatically complex, but easy to oversteep. If considering the aroma alone, this would be among my favorite white teas ever, but the experience of drinking it was slightly less than top-notch, I'd say only solidly good, not excellent.
The dry leaf is i...

The aroma is quite mild evoking fresh vegetation and early springtime with a hint of floral. Brewed the leaves have the aroma of minerals, vegetation, and sage. The liquid also has notes of sage and smells incredibly clean.

A pleasant, full-bodied tea, but aromatically weak and not very interesting. Not as aromatic as Ten Ren's white tea, which remains my favorite white tea from a tea bag. Smells very mild, mostly of caramel, very faintly floral.
Flavor is subdued: not very bitter. Just the right amount of astringency: smooth, even ...

This may be tied with TeaVivre for my favorite white peony--yet the two teas are like day and night. TeaVivre's is so light, and I found this to be rich, full-bodied, and dark. Pleasing and unusually strong for a white tea.
Broken leaf has a highly heterogeneous appearance, with small whole leaves, large broken pi...

This tea is very light and a bit floral. It tastes a bit like a watered down green tea. It is definitely not bitter, and not very sour or really even sweet. It is not at all astringent.
It when brewed for about 2 minutes, it produced a pale amber color. I brewed it a second time, for much longer, and it was a littl...

The most aromatic white peony I've sampled yet.
Dry leaf looks much lighter and with more downy tips than usual for this type of tea. Aroma of the dry leaf is intensely floral and delicate, with melon-like tones that I normally only encounter in silver needle.
When brewed as recommended, there is only a hint of ...

I don't like this tea as much as the white peony that I usually drink (Prince of Peace) because it tastes greener, and I don't like green tea. It's also more expensive. I added cream and sugar.

I really enjoyed the floral scent of this tea and its taste. Its flavor was rich, smooth, and full, with an imperceptible aftertaste. It brewed a dark-amber color. This is one of the better teas I've tried from Two Leaves and Bud and I will definitely be drinking it again!

I really like this tea. I like dark and strong white teas. I didn't think much of it at first, but I started drinking it all the time because it's convenient. It doesn't take long to get really strong, and it's not bitter at all, which I like. Now it has grown on me, and I never get tired of it. I drink it with cream a...
