Lemon Ginger Herbal Plus Probiotics from Bigelow Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 20th, 2015
This herbal tea was a little bit odd tasting. I didn't know that it was a probiotic when I tried it; I had it in a cafe.
It didn't taste much at all like any other lemon ginger blends I have tried previously. I can't notice much ginger at all, and the lemon is also mild. I normally like lemon ginger herbal teas b...
Organic Easy Now® from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

I was curious to try this one; I tend to like to drink relaxing herbal teas, and I like the various active ingredients, which include passionflower, chamomile, lavender, catnip, and rosemary, as well as some of the inactive (flavoring) ingredients.
I thought this was pleasant but I didn't notice any relaxing effects...
Breathe Easy® from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

I tried this out of curiosity and am evaluating it more for taste than for any medicinal properties.
The tea bag is wonderfully aromatic, always a good sign, and the aroma is complex, suggesting mint and licorice but with a lot of other things going on.
Upon brewing, the cup has so much going on in the aroma that...
Egyptian Licorice from Yogi Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 15th, 2014
This blend was far too sweet for me, which is perhaps understandable given that licorice is naturally sweet, and it was the first and main ingredient, and the second ingredient was cinnamon bark, which is also naturally sweet.
Aroma is dominately licorice but has much complexity. I notice the cinnamon too, but have...
Decaffeinated Antioxidant Green Tea from Salada
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: ?????25 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 1/5

I don't like (or recommend) eating or drinking antioxidant supplemented products because there is some scientific evidence that they may be harmful to consume, in contrast to whole foods and drinks which are naturally rich in antioxidants. It's the same reason I don't believe in taking vitamin pills. So I wouldn't dr...

Aroma of the dry leaf is like a masala chai, heavy on the cardamom, but with perhaps a more strong suggestion of dried herbs, like an herb garden.
The brewed cup, red in color, smells much less like a typical masala chai. The rooibos is strongly evident, and there's a pretty strong spicy quality, I think from the g...
Woman’s Raspberry Leaf from Yogi Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 15th, 2012
I'm a man, and I know this is usually marketed as a women's health product, but I really like raspberry leaf, and I drink it mainly for flavor. The package says "Strengthens the female system." and, at least from my experience, I think this assertion is true--I like drinking this herb and I certainly have a lot of str...

The ingredients say chamomile, star anise, and lemon balm, but upon drinking it, it seems like there is also peppermint in it. Peppermint has a distinctive aroma, and is a logical choice for inclusion in an herbal blend to settle the stomach, but the fact that it's not listed is a little strange to me.
I don't noti...

This blend is uncannily similar to Bigelow's sweet dreams, with its combination of peppermint, hibiscus, and chamomile. It brews a deep red color and has a complex, distinctive aroma that strongly evokes my memories associated with Bigelow's tea.
This tea, however, is considerably edgier...it has some bite to it, a...
Organic Easy Digestion from Helps
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

This blend contains three herbs that I like a fair amount, but would not blend in this particular combination for taste alone. The aroma is muddled and somewhat heavy. The chamomile dominates, and the anise is noticeable too...the mint takes a background.
The flavor is both sweet and bitter.
This is an interest...

I can definitely notice the thyme, linden, and fennel in the aroma. I don't know what mallow and elderflower smell like, so I can't identify them. The aroma is earthy and herbaceous, mostly dominated by the thyme.
Flavor is moderately bitter. This tea has a sort of slimy mouthfeel, for lack of a better descriptor...

This is the first commercially-available herbal blend I've tried which prominently includes lemon balm. I love lemon balm: it dries well, and it is delicious and has a number of beneficial health properties. I think lemon balm is an under-utilized herb in commercial blends.
However, I was disappointed by this tea....

Bold, slightly prickly ginger presence, peppermint and cinnamon also noticeable in the aroma. Aroma is dominated by the ginger, peppermint, and cinnamon. Flavor is sweet. Very full-bodied. This tea tastes very good.
I find this is a rather centering tea, making one slightly more alert but also slightly more mell...
Echinacea Immune Support from Yogi Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 24th, 2011
I drank this tea mainly to see how it tasted, not for its medicinal effects. There are so many different ingredients, many of them strongly aromatic. In this blend, however, they come across more as complex, and less muddled, which I think shows some artfulness on behalf of the blenders at Yogi.
Many tones emerge...
Dreamtime® from Sacred Rose

Smooth initial flavor. I feel a bit conflicted giving this one such low ratings because it does have many good qualities, but I just disliked it overall.
There's a lot of chamomile in this blend, and chamomile is definitely evident in the aroma. I also notice, however, the rather unpleasant aroma of valerian. Val...
Super Green Tea - Matcha, Sencha & Orange from Good Earth Teas
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend17 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 1/5
Mar. 27th, 2011
I received this tea bag from a trade when visiting some friends.
I was not impressed with this one. The aroma is flat and I find that the orange and sencha simply do not go well together (this is the second orange-flavored sencha I've tried and I really don't like it.) Flavor is unpleasantly sour.
I also think ...

I picked a single teabag of this up...not enough to judge its antidepressant effects (supposedly it takes weeks to notice anything), but I was curious what it tasted like.
Brewing as instructed (10+ minutes) it produces a complex aroma of herbs, earth, licorice, and fennel. There are a lot of different ingredients ...
Organic Raspberry Leaf from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 14th, 2011
I was drinking this as a beverage, not a medicinal tea, so I made a single 3-minute infusion instead of the recommended 10-15 minute one. I imagine it might get a bit too strong if brewed that much: 3 minutes was plenty strong and even perhaps a bit too much.
The cup is greenish brown, like some mild black teas. A...
Aztec Sweet Chili (formerly Mexican Sweet Chili) from Yogi Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

Peppery, producing a light burn even drinking a third of the cup.
Although the aroma suggests cocoa, spice, and warmth, the flavor is surprisingly cool, clean, and fresh. Licorice is definitely noticable as the dominant tone in the aroma; the cocoa is more subdied. Fairly balanced aroma, hard to tell where one spi...
Liquorice Peppermint from Choice Organic Teas
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 17th, 2011
Aroma overwhelmingly pepperminty, but in drinking the cup, the licorice emerges. The peppermint and licorice complement each other, with the mint piercing, fresh, but fleeting, and the licorice slow to emerge, but warming and lasting.
Very sweet flavor, even without adding any sweetener.
I'm not crazy about pepp...
Red Rooibos Tea suffused with Sceletium Tortuosum from Suffuse
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 25th, 2011
Surprisingly smooth; this blend definitely has a flavor and aroma distinctly different from straight rooibos, but because both the rooibos and sceletium have a mostly earthy character, it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.
The aroma is very earthy and warming, and the flavor is exceptionally smooth....
Red Rooibos Tea suffused with Hoodia Gordonii & Buchu Agathosma Betulina from Suffuse

Based on what I know of these two herbs, I would not like to consume this tea on a regular basis, but it was interesting to try. Thanks to Marlena for providing this one.
The aroma was rather strong and has many different components. Even though the blend is mostly Rooibos, the other herbs lend a very strong aroma...
get relaxed - No.14 from Republic of Tea
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

I found this herbal tea to be very pleasant to drink; the aroma is complex...there's a noticeable lavender presence but it doesn't overwhelm the other ingredients, which mostly impart a rich, earthy quality. I can't really notice the rooibos distinctly though, even though it's listed as the first ingredient. Aroma-wi...

Aroma is dominantly a sort of strange, light, earthy smell. There's some tea presence in the aroma but it's weak, generic, and takes a back burner. The tea is smooth...not much bitterness, but overall, not much flavor, even when brewed in a rather small cup for 3 or more minutes.
While I usually respect Yogi's app...

Mild, woody aroma, with a hint of wintergreen. The smell reminds me of the inside of some people's homes...it's a homey, comfortable, familiar sort of smell, but slightly medicinal. This tea is slightly sweet, and very mellow.
After drinking two cups (the sample only really makes three) I'm still not sure how I fe...
