Aroma: Maple, brown sugar, chai spice. This is a nice smelling tea! 8/10

Dec. 30th, 2020
Prep: 200F, 5min
Aroma: You really almost smell butter cream icing. It’s a nice note but it’s not what I typically associate with red velvet cake. 7/10

Dec. 30th, 2020
Prep: 200F, 5 min
Aroma: This really does give you the sense of a very nicely roasted coffee; however, there is a malty black tea note behind it 8/10

Prep: 200F, 5min
Aroma: Clearly earl grey. Bergamot is very strong. Not unpleasant but a little disjointed. 6/10
Flavor: I tried this plain and then added a splash of almond milk. The milk blended out some rough edges and left a nice citrus flavor with the lightest kiss of cocoa. 7/10

Aroma: This tea reminds me of a chocolate covered biscotti. Really inviting, very dessertlike. 8/10

Dec. 27th, 2020
Pre: 200F, 5min, 2.5tsp, 16oz
Aroma: I can’t tell if this is the purple color of the liquid or if I’m really getting this much blueberry and blue raspberry. Either way, it’s fruity. 8/10
Flavor: This tastes like blue raspberry as well. I’m not sure if I’m as big of a fan of that for a dominant flavor b...

Dec. 25th, 2020
Prep: 200F, 2.5tsp, 16oz, 7min
Aroma: There is something to be said for a tea smelling like WGT it’s called. There is a sense of buttery, sugary, french toast. 8/10

Organic Vanilla Chai from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 14th, 2020
A little funny having a black tea before bedtime; however, the cab says low caffeine. David’s would not mislead me, right?

Aroma: You really get the vanilla notes on this one. The cinnamon pops pretty nicely as well. With the aroma bei...
Forever Nuts from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend38 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
Dec. 10th, 2020
This tea sounds incredible but really doesn’t have enough to it...
Appearance - rose colored with decent translucency.
Aroma - cinnamon and apple and very little else.
Flavor - there just isn’t much here. Watery.
Value - it’s not crazy expensive but it’s probably 4-5/oz
Organic Gyokuro Yamashiro from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Gyokuro – Region: Kagoshima, Japan30 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 1/5
Jan. 21st, 2020
Looks and smells like a proper gyokuro but completely misses on flavor. Very hard to steep, needs a low temp and short time to avoid turning it into an astringent bitter mess. Does not re-steep at all, one and done. Some of the vegetal taste of a gyokuro but like an artificial version, not balanced or rich.

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????82 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 31st, 2019
This “tea” is sweet and aromatic. I enjoyed it, even just using hot water dispensed from a Keurig. The second stepping was weaker than the first, though some flavor was still present.

Style: Flavored Pu-erh – Region: Blend55 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 24th, 2018
I’ve always thought of chocolate tea as a bit of a conundrum. While I love chocolate, and I love tea, in almost every case attempting to blend the two leaves you with little more than a watered-down cup of hot chocolate. Call me crazy, but hot chocolate is supposed to be rich and creamy, and somehow nobody ever seems...
Read Full ReviewCandy Cane Crush from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 24th, 2018
At first blush, Candy Cane Crush is definitively festive! With candy cane pieces and snowflake sprinkles mixed into the tea, it has the appearance of being quite literally made for the holiday season. But does it taste festive? DAVIDsTEA bills it as a sweet, icy-cool peppermint black tea, so candy canes do seem to be w...

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 24th, 2018
DAVIDsTEA claims they take their french toast very seriously. In my opinion, they’re right! When I first saw that they had a french toast tea, I couldn’t imagine it tasting anything like one of my favorite breakfasts. Boy was I wrong! The Cardamom French Toast tea is rich, creamy, and tastes just like a buttery sli...
Read Full ReviewZest Wishes from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Blend45 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 24th, 2018
This is a decent tea that tastes just like I expected it to. It’s billed as a zesty blend of “warm cinnamon, cardamom and zesty orange peel,” and they aren’t wrong. The cinnamon and cardamom are well-balanced and rich, and the orange peel provides a decent kick to go along with the lightly caffeinated oolong te...

Oct. 20th, 2018
I'd really like to say something positive about this tea, but it's really just not good. I gave it several chances. I brewed it first using the method that worked reliably with the Maeda-en gyokuro, but it was bitter and made me extremely jittery. I tried converting the annoying, proprietary "perfect spoonful" measurem...

Style: Black Tea – Region: Nandi, Kenya75 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jul. 31st, 2018
This tea is made up of small pellets when dry. I suspected they would expand with water, which they did -- but not overwhelmingly so. The aroma is pretty subtle.
I brewed it at 205 F by pouring water over it and then allowing it to steep awhile. It never became bitter or unpleasant. It reminds me of a mixture of asp...
S’mores Chai from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Flavored Pu-erh – Region: ?????85 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 31st, 2018
Sticking my nose into the bag, I found the aroma of the dry tea pleasant and strong. The main notes were of cinnamon, hazelnut, and chocolate. After brewing (at 200 F for 4 minutes) , those scents were more muted and subtle notes of graham cracker and campfire picked up.
The taste and aroma strike me as well blended...
Organic Silken Pu-erh from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Pu-erh Tea – Region: Yunnan, China90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 8th, 2018
I was in the area, so I decided to check out a David's Tea shop. In all honesty, it looked more like a candy store than a tea shop. It had all these colorful spoons and containers and most of their "teas" looked more like trail mix or confetti than tea (some of them had the ingredients to trail mix in them). I'd writte...

This tea has little bits of blue cornflower and bits of some citrus rind, so it looks nice. The tea leaves are not cut up, but whole. It smells strongly of bergamot. The flavour is strong on bergamot, not very strong of citrus, which I like. I'm not a fan of citrusy earl grey, but this one has only a hint of citrus ar...

This "tea" does not look like tea, but like a pile of nuts and dried fruits. It smells delicious, like nuts, apples, a bit of cinnamon or clove. However, the taste is not great. It is not a strong flavour, a bit one note, flat, mostly of nuts, like warm nut water, which is basically what it is. It seems to be popular, ...
