Kenyan Black Tea - Loose Tea from Ajiri Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Kisii, Kenya77 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

This is a tasty but basic black tea, with a great cause. The leaves are tiny, dark, and pellet-like. Not what I was expecting, but I didn't want to judge on just the leaf appearance alone. The leaves have a lovely sweet cocoa scent.
after steeping, the liquor tastes of whole wheat toast, and dark chocolate. It is a...

It smells very smokey right out of the package. Must have quite a bit of Keemun. This tea is perfect for today- I have been alone with my small kids for a few days, and I’m exhausted and also feel a cold coming on. This tea is perfect to wake me up, and also comfort. While trying to watch the kids and steep tea, I ov...

The leaves are gorgeous! the dry leaf smell reminds me of very strong dried fruits, such as dates and raisins. maybe a little goji berry, too. I also get a whiff of sweet tobacco, like what my father used to smoke in his pipe when I was a girl. The taste is very interesting, slightly caramel-y, and i’m also getting t...

The liquor has a beautiful floral aroma with that sweet darjeeling muscatel scent. In taste, it is not as delicate as a first flush. It is bold, but without much of the floral notes that 2nd flushes usually have. It does have the soft mouthfeel described by the vendor, but I did not detect any woody notes. The tea is a...

The tea produces a nice golden cup. It has a strong astringent taste, and of course the muscatel that I've grown to love from Darjeelings. While it has the distinctive Darjeeling aroma, it does not have any delicate floral notes. the leaves are nice and large, and you don't need much to get a dark full bodied cup. The ...

This is a very mild Assam. It is super smooth and has no bitterness whatsoever. To me it tastes like malty, liquid honey. It is super sweet, thick, and smooth. It has a sweet smell, similar to a raisin or apricot, with a slight tobacco aroma. When I taste it however, the only flavors that come through for me are the...

I'm a fan of PG tips for mornings when I just want a quick cup of strong tea to wake me up. It has a strong, malty aroma, that translates through to the taste as well. it has a slightly bitter flavor, similar to english breakfast. There is a slight frutiness as well. a very basic morning tea.

Brewing for about 4 minutes yields a nice rich golden color and a malty scent. Nothing fancy about the taste, but it's just what I look for in a quick breakfast (or early afternoon) tea- slightly bitter, malty, with a faint hint of fruit on top. This is of course a tea that would do well with a drop of milk and some su...

I'll start by saying I'm new to white teas, so I do not know exactly what a typical white tastes like. But the large leaves have a beautiful honey aroma that also came through after steeping. I could smell another slightly woody/nutty flavor, but couldn't identify it until I read the package "Pure White Tea with acc...

Each tea bag is a 'pyrmaid infuser'. It is a good way to let the tea breathe a little bit, and spread out. The leaves have a lovely sweet floral scent. I steeped the tea for the 4 minutes recommended on the box. The tea has a faint floral fragrance, along with a hint of that Darjeeling muscatel. These aromas translate...

Out of the package the tea has a lovely light floral scent. Not very strong, but immensely pleasing. I steeped the tea with freshly boiled (but not boiling) water. This resulted in a beautiful bright yellow/green liquid that had a light sweet smell. The taste is best described as light, yet full of flavor at the sam...

This tea is pleasing. It has a sweet aroma with a smooth, toasty and nutty flavor. similar to Hojicha but without any green vegetal taste. It is very soothing. It also is reminding me of something from my childhood, but I can’t put my finger on what it is. I think it’s a tea we used to have at a Chinese restaurant ...
