Modern Earl Grey from Teavana
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????79 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

After a phase of pyramidal sachets in covered plastic cups a few years ago, Teavana seems to have been reconstituted yet again—this time as a line of individually wrapped bagged teas on the target-audience level of Tazo or Stash, but costlier. At a conference, I saw several new Teavana offerings, and took samples ho...

This is a pleasant EG, but very much on the lighter side. There is not a lot of bergamot flavor, and the tea is a little thin - but it makes a perfectly enjoyable cup. I would recommend this to someone who likes a mild Earl Grey.

This has a little lavender flavor plus a lot in the potpourri-like aroma, and there is plenty of bergamot too. With lemon or lime and sugar, it has a candied orange peel flavor. I preferred it with milk and sugar, which is a little more subtle. A good change of pace from the usual Earl Grey.

I will always give a flavored Earl Grey a try; sometimes they are very impressive, sometimes not. It is interesting to see how the teamakers alter the EG formula - I have had them with lavender, chocolate, rose, and vanilla, maybe others too. This Baroness adds lemon, cornflower, and rose along with the bergamot (and...

Here's a rare flavored black tea where the flavor itself is fairly feeble, and the tea dominates it (not necessarily in a good way, either). Save your money and get an off-brand, food-service tea at a cheap motel, for an experience that is comparable, if not better.
I got this from a gift pack of sampler boxes, wi...
Earl Grey from Williamson Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

The round, tagless tea bags are packed into a sealed mylar pouch, but aren't individually wrapped. The freshly opened pouch smells of bergamot, but isn't as fruity as Williamson's Duchess Grey. The bergamot has an aroma that is present in the Duchess Grey, but otherwise unique to Willamson. It's fruity, but almost has ...

The dry tea is finely chopped and smells strongly of citrus. There are a few white flecks in the bag that according to the ingredients are probably bergamot peel.
I'm pretty sure that the citrus in Twinings Earl Grey is a blend. The bergamot is pronounced (as it should be in an Earl Grey), but I also taste sweet ora...
Double Bergamot Earl Grey Tea from Stash Tea

The foil-sealed tea bags each contain just shy of 2g of tea. The box claims a net weight of 33g in 18 bags, which makes for 1.8g of tea.
The dry tea bag smells strongly of bergamot. It also smells fresher than most other Earl Grey, like freshly cut fruit. This may be the fruitiest-smelling Earl Grey I've tried.

Half-litre pot at home, made from a mixture of black tea (Assam?) leaves, sprinkled with flavour and bergamot oil. Pours nearly clear copper brown (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of bergamot oil, with malty and leafy notes of black tea (Assam?). Bitter, but not aggressive, leafy flavour with sweetis...

I’m not an expert on earl gray. This may be the first I’ve ever had.
Prep: 200F, 5min, 2.5tsp, 16oz
Aroma - There is a ton of citrus exploding out of the cup. I can’t pick up much else, honestly.
Flavor: A little bit of orange peel, more orange zesty notes. It’s pretty hard to get to the actual tea....

Cup at home, made from a teabag. Pours hazy dark brown (against white china) with sediment. Intense aroma of malt, bergamot oil, citrus and, well, horse manure, if you ask me, with some leafy notes of black tea. Bitter flavour of black tea, with some malty notes (Assam?) and citric touches and hints of bergamot oil. As...

I must confess this tea was like a sort of introduction for me to the world of teas. I used to have it as a child on Sunday afternoons by my father. We had it strong and with plenty of sugar.
I'd say that this tea offers a very respectable value for money. In my area, it can be found easily (even in not specialized ...

Twining's US uses a less-health-hazardous method for extracting caffeine from tea. I commend them for that, in principle. In practice, this is a terrible way of extracting caffeine because it takes all of the flavor along with it. There is a better way of doing it that is both less health-hazardous and maintains flavor...

I got this from a restaurant hot-tea selection box and took home an extra bag to taste-test on good well water. The bergamot was somewhat feeble throughout the consumption experience. Still, it's among the better Twinings teas I've had (yes, I realize that's not saying much).
Sweetened, as I always do, this prod...

One of my favorite Earl grey teas for use in Royal milk tea. The bergamot flavoring is very strong making it overwhelming to drink straight, but with milk and honey it’s like having dessert in a glass.

The dry tea smells very strongly of bergamot and very much like Bigelow's regular Earl Grey.
The taste is much different than the regular Bigelow. Much more tea shines through the citrus. I suspect that the base tea is the Steep English Breakfast, which is a flavorful Sri Lankan/Ceylon tea with a mellow cocoa bitter...

A weakly-flavored, not very aromatic tea experience. If you're looking for a very mild, decaffeinated tea that's easy on the stomach, this is a good choice, but if you were hoping for intense flavors, maybe try something else.

Just spent a week drinking this tea. We were on a week long backpacking trip and since She Who Must Be Obeyed likes Earl Grey I packed this. Drank it every morning.
