Pom Tango from DAVIDsTEA

Good aroma, good flavor. This was brewed for 5 minutes and served hot without milk or sugar. It tastes more strongly of mango than pomegranate.

I liked it, but it didn't wow me. This would probably be great as an iced tea and I'll update if I try it that way.

Cool Cucumber from DAVIDsTEA

Apr. 29th, 2014

Oh my. I hate to be so negative, but this is just gross. It smells like cucumber before brewing. While steeping, it smells more like cucumber and mint, which is interesting because there's no mint in the ingredients list. I didn't smell/taste the melon in the description.

This was steeped for 5 minutes with boiling...

I'm a sucker for pretty things, and this tea is really gorgeous. It contains gold sugar beads and little silver sugar crystals.

Before, during, and after steeping, the smell is awesome. It's spicy and sweet smelling. I infuse this for around 5 minutes.

The taste is very good, and the spiciness apparent in ...

Organic Blueberry Jam from DAVIDsTEA

Apr. 29th, 2014

I'm learning that most flavored teas smell great, but don't always have the best flavor. It's not to say that I don't enjoy them, but many taste at least a little artificial.

This is an ok tea, but it's not amazing. I steep it for about 5 minutes and it has a subtle blueberry flavor. I think I need to get over ...

40 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
Apr. 25th, 2014

This tea has a kind of interesting flavor/aroma, but it's so weak I can barely taste it, after brewing it for 5 minutes. It's very thin and watery. I tend to like stronger teas. I added cream and sugar.

Gingerbread Smoke from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 24th, 2014

The aroma is more or less exactly what I expected from a tea named Gingerbread Smoke, it is quite richly smoky with warm spices and an especially strong kick of ginger. Everything about the aroma of this tea is warm, from the lingering memories of a fire to the spices, good for sniffing on a chilly evening.

The tast...

This is one of the more memorable teas I've tried. Strong (but not overwhelming) flavour, very pleasant aroma. I found a tiny touch of milk was nice with it.

Lady Grey is my favorite breakfast tea! It has a soft, floral and citrus fragrance and tastes lighter and smoother than Earl Grey. Add cream and sugar and this tea becomes a delicate and refreshing alternative to coffee or English Breakfast tea.

The dry leaves smell just like the carrot cake my mom would make for my birthday when I was a wee little one. The aroma is rich and sweet, blending carrots, spices, and vanilla for an added extra frosting like treat.

The taste is spicy and earthy, like an unsweetened carrot cake. The spices are subtle, no kick in th...

I've drunk Tazo's Earl Grey in flat tea bags (what they now call "filterbags") a number of times, and only now tried the newer full-leaf version, part of my attempt to sample all of Tazo's full leaf teas before Starbucks switches to serving only Teavana.

The aroma is fresh and light, and oddly pervasive. This is a ...

The aroma of this tea smells JUST like peaches, not nasty fake peaches or peach candy, but the real juicy fruit. There is milder note of apricot, and a touch of lemon myrtle

The taste is initially sweet with strong notes of lemon myrtle. For those who have never had lemon myrtle it tastes like a blend of vegetation ...

The aroma is crazy sweet, blending notes of marshmallow that fades into chocolate and lastly graham crackers and hint of malt. It certainly smells like a s'more! Once brewed the aroma becomes primarily chocolate with hints of the other aromas.

This tea was surprisingly not sweet, it had the qualities of dark chocola...

Thank you Red Rose, for the sample of this tea, included in the bag from the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival. I only got to trying it now.

I initially saw "lemon" and thought this would be a typical lemon-flavored black tea, but no...this tea is much more cake than lemon.

The tea bag has an aroma that bears...

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie from Della Terra Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????

77 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

The aroma is spot on, it smells just like an oatmeal raisin cookie! It is sweet, spicy, malty, raisiny (totally a word now), and of course has the grainy quality of oatmeal. The cinnamon is a little stronger than the particular cookies I grew up with, but I have had some that smell as strongly of cinnamon as this tea d...

OK - decent EG, light in terms of flavor and caffeine level. I think Tazo EG is far better.
I usually get a box of 100 or 144 from Costco, so decent value.

Updated Review: I tried this tea again and, this time, i was able to make it so that it was more enjoyable. As long as i don't let it overbrew and I add milk, this is actually quite a delightful tea--invigorating without being bitter.

The bergamot tastes natural, but I'd like a more robust citrus flavor. Last time I...

Apple Refresh from Ahmad Tea

Feb. 28th, 2014

Of all four of Ahmad's fruit-flavored black teas, this is the one I liked the least. It has a fairly artificial apple flavoring...it does not smell at all like an actual apple, but rather, like the "green apple" candy flavor, familiar to me from my childhood.

I don't know if Ahmad uses a different base tea for thei...

I like the convenience of RoT's round brown tea bags - and Mango Ceylon is a fruity, good-tasting choice - but I much prefer the ginger peach. Makes a good iced tea.
