Organic Green Tea With Organic Peppermint (Sachet) from Harney and Sons
Style: Green Tea with Mint – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Sep. 12th, 2011
I really prefer blends of green tea with spearmint to those containing peppermint, but given that this is a peppermint blend, I think it is quite outstanding.
The peppermint has a candy-like quality, clean, clear, and suggesting sweetness. The base tea is smooth, slightly sweet, and believe it or not, blends seamle...

Genmaicha Extra Green from Den's Tea
Style: Genmaicha – Region: Shizuoka, Japan87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Aug. 18th, 2011
I am a big fan of Genmaicha and was really happy when Den's included this loose sample in with the rest of my latest order. (They do offer this in tea bags as well) I never had matcha mixed with Genmaicha before, and was a bit skeptical, but was happily surprised from the moment I opened the pouch. The sweet aroma of m...

Genmai-Cha from Takaokaya
Style: Genmaicha – Region: Shizuoka, Japan63 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Aug. 17th, 2011
Very mild, mellow flavor, but without being bland. This was good quality for a tea bag, and given that the tea bag did not seem to have the most generous quantity of leaf.
The brew is cloudy, as expected for a blend containing matcha, and the aroma is mostly of popcorn. More popcorn-like and less toasty than other...

Cacaoberry Green Tea from Zhena's Gypsy Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend47 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Jul. 25th, 2011
A balanced but somewhat muddled tea. Brews a brownish-orange cup with a greenish tinge. Flavor is mild and smooth. Aroma is weak at first, but upon drinking, there's a strong fruitiness that emerges. I don't notice much of the base green tea, but the rooibos is definitely present.
Interesting to try, but unimpre...

Genmai Cha from Adagio Teas
Style: Genmaicha – Region: Japan73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 18th, 2011
Over the past year I have had some really mediocre genmaicha's, so I was pleasantly surprised when I recently tried Adagio Teas version of this Japanese classic. The initial sweet and nutty aroma of the dry tea transforms to a roasted rice and popcorn aroma as the tea steeps.
The translucent infusion has a nice lig...

Organic Green Tea - Mango, Peach & Pineapple from Good Earth Teas
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 18th, 2011
I first had this tea very cold on a hot summer day, and was surprised at how fragrant and pleasing it was. I picked up a box and tried it hot, and was just as pleasantly surprised. It is nice all on it's own, but holds up to sweetener (agave or sugar) very well. If you like cooking, this makes an excellent tea to poach...

Brown Rice Green Tea from Dong Suh
Style: Genmaicha – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 14th, 2011
I was curious to try this to see if it was noticeably different from Genmaicha from the mainstream Japanese brands. It did seem a bit different.
Brews an opaque, light yellow cup. Typical genmaicha taste, but with more of the toasted rice aroma and less tea presence. Very smooth, mild, unobtrusive.
Surprising...

Canton Green Tea from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 13th, 2011
Here's the thing: I don’t really like my green tea flavored…I like it straight, strong, earthy, and in its natural unflavored form. The exception for me has always been Tazo’s Zen tea, which has a hint of spearmint and tastes almost as good as plain ol’ green tea. For the most part though, adding flavor to gree...

Genmaicha Green Tea from Foojoy
Style: Genmaicha – Region: China63 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
May. 29th, 2011
My first Genmaicha. Usually I drink Chinese teas, or at least Chinese style teas, so this is a bit of a departure for me.
This tea does not retain much of its Sencha characteristics, or at least they are somewhat covered up in the general style. The tea is brewed to a light color, a bit surprising for the aroma and ...

Green Tea with Coconut & Ginger from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
May. 20th, 2011
Found this green tea to be unfortunately bitter... definitely have to be careful with how long you leave the teabag in. That said it has a lovely aroma, and a strong flavor. Overall pleasant.

Zen Filterbags from Tazo Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????47 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
May. 16th, 2011
Aroma comes from added flavors, not from the tea leaves, really. The flavor is basically spearmint and lemongrass, with little green tea flavor to be found. This is kind of a novelty tea, but nice on rare occasions. This tea could have broad appeal, but precisely because there is very little actual tea flavor.
The T...

Green Tea with Pomegranate from Bigelow Tea
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: ?????67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 28th, 2011
I enjoy fruit-flavored green teas, to help balance out green tea's natural flavor which isn't something I usually enjoy alone.
Pomegranate goes well with green tea. It allows for the green tea to still have its own unique flavor, but without it being so assertive.
It has a lightly sweet flavor, enough to mellow ...

Tropical Grapefruit Green Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: ?????73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 27th, 2011
I am a fan of grapefruits, so when I saw this tea, in my cart it went!
It has a nice aroma of green tea with subtle citrus scents. Not an overwhelming aroma.
The flavor is nice, though the green tea can be on the bitter side (though I don't mind that).
For being a hot tea, it is refreshing, and one that is ...

Organic Green Tea - Mango, Peach & Pineapple - Decaffeinated from Good Earth Teas
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

I simply love this tea, but it isn't for everyone.
The aroma is so lovely, and I would enjoy a candle scented like it! It is very tropical smelling.
The flavor is mostly pineapple and green tea, though the pineapple takes over most of the flavors. It is very sweet all by itself, and provides a unique flavor I r...

Pomegranate Green Tea from Republic of Tea
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 27th, 2011
This is a nice, lightly sweet green tea. Some may want to add sugar to sweeten it more, but I find it to be nice as is.
It has a good smoothness to it, and no bitterness from the green tea.
Tasting both green tea and the pomegranate, it blended well to create a subtly sweet tea that was refreshing.
I also...

Honey Ginseng from Republic of Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

If you want a really smooth green tea, try this one. The honey really mellows out the green tea, and provides a soothing cup to drink.
The scent while brewing is a nice, sweet honey scent, followed by tangy green tea. It really enticed me to drink it!
For those who don't like green tea because of the harsher ...

Orange, Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 27th, 2011
This tea has a great blend of flavors, without bitterness. The green tea flavor is there, but subtly. The orange and passion fruit adds a little fruity sweetness, and the Jasmine balances it all out into a very mellow tea.
I was unsure how much I'd really like it, but I loved it the first cup I had.

Green Ginger from Tazo Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China47 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 27th, 2011
Strong gingery aroma: dried ginger, not particularly fresh. The aroma is also suggestive of licorice. Lemongrass is noticeable in the aroma. Not much green tea presence. Spicy overall. Flavor is muddled. Color is a rich golden orange. Peppery aftertaste.
While I've had a lot worse, this one just didn't do it ...

Acai Matcha (Acai Matcha Latte) from Shanti Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 16th, 2011
Making the tea, the cup of tea is much darker green than I have seen matcha get. It is a sweet smelling tea.
The tea is not as bitter as some matchas that I have had. The Acai berry that has been added to the tea makes it a little sweeter. The tea is sweeter sort of with a tangy after taste to it. It doesn’t t...

Moroccan Mint Green Tea from Dilmah
Style: Green Tea with Mint – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon40 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jan. 16th, 2011
I tend to like Ceylon greens and I also like the typical Moroccan mint blends, so I was optimistic about this one. But this tea uses peppermint rather than spearmint.
Although the peppermint aroma is toned down relative to a pure peppermint herbal tea, peppermint still dominates the aroma. The underlying base tea ...

Earl Grey Leaf Green Tea from Hyson
Style: Earl Grey Green Tea – Region: ?????83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

This surprised me; it's a whole-leaf tea with relatively large leaves; a few of the leaves are broken or torn but most are intact.
Fruity and floral aroma, even perfumey, with a slightly smoky finish. Gentler than any other Earl Grey I've had. The flavor profile is similar to a high-quality Jasmine, but the aroma ...

Decaf Lotus Blossom Green (Lotus) from Tazo Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????57 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 4th, 2010
It's hard to find a good decaf Green Tea, and Tazo's Lotus is a surprisingly satisfactory choice. Sweet, mellow green tea that manages to pull off a sort of pleasant lemon-y taste without being sharp.
Not exciting by any means but hits the spot
