Santa's Secret from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

80 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 4th, 2018

This tea looks very festive, with little candy canes. It smells great, of peppermint and vanilla. The taste is like black tea, with a relatively strong vanilla taste (somewhat artificial tasting) and just a bit of peppermint. I love this tea, despite the slightly artificial vanilla taste. It is not too sweet and too mi...

Organic Cream of Earl Grey from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Earl Grey Cream – Region: Blend

40 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 4th, 2018

This tea looks and smells wonderful. However, the flavour of "cream" (to me it tastes like fake vanilla flavouring) is overpowering and bergamot gets lost. This seems to be a fan favourite, but I dislike it. Would not buy again.

Glitter & Gold from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 4th, 2018

This tea looks gorgeous. It smells very much like cloves, very Christmassy. However, the taste is more regular mild black tea with a hint of spice (cinnamon and clove), a bit drying in the mouthfeel. It is not overly sweet, though it says that it has some sugar in it. It would be great for Christmas season, and winter ...

Wonderful. Great chai experience with no caffeine so you can drink it late. Decent cinnamon take on traditional chai. One of my absolute favorites.

Irish Breakfast from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 17th, 2017

This tea is OK. It's like the dregs of the English Breakfast tea though. Smaller cut, like the English tea was shaken and this is what fell out. You might be disappointed if you like the English, but I'm sure this is very good if you prefer Irish Breakfast.

This is what Earl Grey should aspire to be. Good, strong bergamot which many other Earl Greys lack. This is one of my staples.

79 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 9th, 2017

Of all the pure teas I've gotten from David's, this is the first one to not stand out from the crowd. It is not a bad tea at all. Like mostly everything I've tried at David's, it is above average. It is just not as impressive as some of the other Greens and Oolongs I have purchased there. This is one of the lowest p...

Picture of Korean Sejak

Korean Sejak from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Sejak – Region: Jeju, South Korea

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 12th, 2016

I thought this was a good everday tea, especially if you want a stronger green tea that isn't too harsh, but I wasn't crazy about it for the high price that it had. I've had only one other Sejak (although I've had other types of Korean green teas, all of which I liked better) and it was pretty similar.

I initially ...

Apr. 1st, 2016

Thank you to my friend Sarah for bringing me this one! I love Kenyan teas, and this was a classic Kenyan CTC tea of decent quality. Quite good and pleasant to drink, but I think it is very overpriced.

Dry leaf is not very aromatic, nor is the brewed cup, but I find the flavor very pleasant. DavidsTea describes "l...

Jan. 24th, 2016

This is a Black tea from the young DavidsTea company (just so you know, I buy a lot of my teas there). Inside, if you didn’t guess already: coconut and chocolate chips. And when you brew it, it becomes a delicious beverage! Really one of my best discovery tea speaking! Even my boyfriend (who is not a tea drinker) fel...

Pumpkin Chai from DAVIDsTEA

Dec. 20th, 2014

I tried this before, just brewed western-style, and it was ok but not great. So this time I decided to do it the David’s Tea recommended way: simmered on the stove. 1 cup each of milk and water, 6g (two generous teaspoons) of tea, 2 tsp of brown sugar (I used organic sucanat because… it was there). Bring to a b...

Style: Darjeeling Second Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India

60 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 14th, 2014

I think this is an average to above-average, if a bit unmemorable, darjeeling.

Steeping the tea the traditional way using DAVIDsTEA's instructions gives a pretty bold mouthfeel. It is quite astringent, with good body, and little bitterness. The aroma is quite pleasant and very much like a darjeeling, earthy with s...

Birthday Cake from DAVIDsTEA

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend

67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 10th, 2014

The aroma of this cake is intensely sweet! There are strong notes of cake batter, vanilla, and a hint of cocoa. Under this explosion of cake and sweetness is a really strong note of woodiness from the Rooibos and Honeybush, it is almost like sitting at a table and having a slice of cake with ice cream and sitting next ...

Method: 1.5 tsp, 8 oz, 185 degrees, 6 minutes, French Press

Dry Leaf & Brewing Aroma: Smells like honey. Nothing more, nothing less. LOL

Method: 1.5 tsp, 8 oz, 205 degrees, 5 minutes, French Press

Dry Leaf Aroma: Chocolate with a hint of coconut

Jun. 12th, 2014

I finally got a chance to try something from DavidsTea, but...erm. Eh. This is not my cup of tea. More like the spice is wrong, and the price is wrong too.

I opened the bag, and the dry leaf smells just like cinnamon, if I really concentrate, I get a hint of orange, nothing else...completely overpowering any smel...

Shooting Starfruit from DAVIDsTEA

May. 27th, 2014

I received this as a sample with my last order, and I wish there was a little more in the sample pack, because I think this would be a good cold brew tea.

As a hot tea, this was pretty ok. The aroma was lovely and it had a fruit flavor that didn't really taste like anything I am familiar with. Unfortunately, it ...

May. 25th, 2014

The aroma of this tea is very sweet and creamy with extremely strong spices. The cinnamon and cloves really overpower the rest of the aromas, but there is a faint hint of malt, pumpkin, and caramel under the potent spices.

The initial impact of the taste is a tingly and numb feeling from the spices, it is a little o...

Pink Lemonade from DAVIDsTEA

May. 21st, 2014

This is so perfect for warm weather. It's a pretty dark pink shade, from the hibiscus, and the lemon flavor is really lovely and strong. I drank this hot, but I can already tell it will be excellent as a cold brew.

I do wonder why David's uses artificial flavorings. Artificial lime? Really? Because the real thi...

May. 19th, 2014

I'm a little disappointed in this tea. Not that it isn't good, because it is. But it tastes very similar to the Redberry Tonic, also by Davids Tea. The two smell and taste nearly the same to me. If I was blindfolded and given a sample of each tea, I don't think I could tell the difference.

I brewed this accordin...

I received this in a tea swap and made it for my Mom, because she absolutely loves amaretto!

Of course, I had to sample her cup and while the flavor isn't my fave, I did enjoy it. I steeped this at 208 degrees for 5 minutes. It smells like almond, and it tastes like almond. Truth in advertising!

Redberry Tonic from DAVIDsTEA

Apr. 29th, 2014

Excellent herbal tea! It smells awesome before steeping. Kind of fruity, but I don't pick out one particular berry scent. This was brewed for 5 minutes and turns a pretty red color.

It's lightly sweet and pleasant. The fruity taste is great, and doesn't need any sweetener.

I made this in the evening when frie...
