Persian Pomegranate Herbal Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????47 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
May. 24th, 2012
I don't like these sour fruit teas, and this one is no exception. I do, however, prefer it slightly to the Wild Encounter Herb Tea (berry flavored) from Novus.
Although rather similar to Wild Encounter, this one is slightly less sour, and more sweet. Surprisingly sweet, naturally, without adding any sugar. Aroma ...
English Breakfast Decaf (Kenilworth Ceylon Decaf) from Novus Tea
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Kandy, Sri Lanka63 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 26th, 2012
This tea is among the best decaffeinated pure black teas that I've tried, whether loose-leaf or from a tea bag.
Full-bodied, dark, strong but smooth and somewhat mellow. There is a vaguely keemun-like fruitiness.
I find it interesting that Novus also carries a caffeinated version of this tea, it allows me to com...
Classic Mint (Egyptian Mint Herb Tea) from Novus Tea
Style: Peppermint Tea – Region: Egypt50 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 2nd, 2012
Very fresh, crisp peppermint aroma. Clean but without being flat. Little of the complex herbaceous aroma that I like though, in peppermint. Strong but without being candy-like.
I tried this mainly to try it, peppermint grows out of control in this climate and I'm never short of it...so I wouldn't buy this (or any...
English Breakfast (Kenilworth Ceylon Tea) from Novus Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Kandy, Sri Lanka67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 28th, 2012
I find it a bit strange that Novus offers both a caffeinated and decaffeinated Ceylon tea from Kenilworth estate. Usually, companies do not wish to draw attention to the difference between a caffeinated tea and its decaffeinated counterpart, as the decaf tea usually pales in comparison. But, in this case, Novus boldl...

Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: Hunan, China77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 12th, 2011
This is the best Jasmine tea I've had from a tea bag. It is better than a lot of loose-leaf jasmine tea I've tried.
Exceptionally smooth for a jasmine. Floral without being perfumey. Base tea is vegetal and mellow like a very good pouchong / bao zhong. The base tea has a strong floral character and it's hard to ...
Wild Encounter Herb Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Sep. 20th, 2011
I am not a huge fan of these sour, fruity herbal blends with a hibiscus base. This one is good for what it is, but it's still too sour for my taste.
The cup brews a pinkish red hue, lighter than a straight hibiscus infusion. The flavor is sour but not overwhelmingly so (much less than, say, Tazo passion, or straig...
Darjeeling Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Sep. 14th, 2011
Very dark for a Darjeeling, but still relatively light body and flavor. Complex and interesting aroma, including grapes, a pleasing hint of a tobacco-like quality that I find is rare in Darjeelings, and some tones of toasted rye bread. Flavor very smooth.
Good for two flavorful infusions.
Another good tea from ...
Sapphire Earl Grey Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Blue Flower Earl Grey – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 22nd, 2011
This was a good, solid Earl Grey, but it failed to wow me the way some of the other Novus teas did.
Aroma is strongly fruity but also somewhat deep and malty. Fruity aroma strongly suggests concord grapes. Good balance of base tea and bergamot flavoring. Less citrusy than some Earl Greys. Very astringent, and ve...
Pai Mu Tan from Novus Tea
Style: White Peony Tea – Region: China53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 24th, 2011
Produces an amber brew with a light, floral aroma, and underlying tones of caramel and autumn leaves. There's also a noticeable fishy quality to the aroma, however, which I find unpleasant. Flavor is surprisingly metallic, although not necessarily in a bad way. Clear, clean, a bit crisp.
I recommend a longer stee...
Dragon Well Green Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Dragon Well (Long Jing) – Region: China73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 23rd, 2011
I tend to not like these high-end tea bag teas, and I tend to find them overpriced, but this one is surprisingly good. On par with some loose-leaf dragon well / lung ching that I've had, but with its own unique twist.
I found this tea to be surprisingly chamomile-like in aroma, but obviously with a caffeine kick, a...
Citrus Chamomile Herb Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: ?????63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 18th, 2011
Much lighter than a pure chamomile tea, the lemongrass is very noticeable. I'd say that this is more like a lemon herbal tea with a hint of chamomile than the other way around. There's a slight strangeness in the aroma, especially in the finish, it's almost a suggestion of mushrooms, hard to describe.
Good overall...
Organic South Indian Select Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: India70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 13th, 2011
This tea was outstanding but I did not find that it fit its commercial description. I don't notice any wood-like aroma nor would I describe this tea as brisk. It shares many characteristics with a highly tannic Assam, but it is smoother, with little bitterness or astringency.
Aroma is mostly of sweet, dark dried f...
